Henderson Question
Hi Sheila, I'm responding to the following message you sent to my sister, M. Bishop: "Henderson
To M Bishop, Find A Grave # 23793239, Does this monument read G B Henderson or C B Henderson??
Is this just a photo or is this info taken from the cemetery records?? Thank you for your work. Sheila"

The photo posted by M. Bishop I took some years ago when photographing this entire cemetery, as we have many ancestors buried there. So mine are "photos only" no cemetery records used. There is one photo posted by another contributor, Patti Hays, which is clearer, but still hard to read. She may have used cemetery records as she lives in that area. I would assume it is C. B. as his first name was Calvin. THANKS! Pat Simmons

I regret to inform that under the guidelines of Find-a-grave I cannot fulfill this request for your transfer at this time. As per their guidelines this is how it can be transferred. I posted this for my oldest and dearest friend and genealogy mentor and cousin. He himself asked to me put these all on here and he is a direct descendant of her. While I myself am not directly to her. I am with all the memorials I listed on this family an acting agent (per sea) for him who is a direct descendant. I can ask, but with out his okay I wouldn't feel right transferring it outside the guide lines of find a grave.

"Transfer requests will be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren".

RE: Carmean
It is quite possible it could be a misprint on death date. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

RE: Arlie A Patrick
I went back out yesterday afternoon and walked the entire area where the EOSH residents are buried and did not find a marker. I'm so sorry I'm unable to fulfill this request for you.

RE: Arlie A Patrick
I went back out to the cemetery office today and they pulled all the information they could find on Arlie Patrick. All the information they have is clearly Arlie A. Patrick, not Arlie H. Patrick. Their records show that Arlie A. passed away in The Dalles, Oregon which is 34 miles from Wasco, Oregon. I even did some searching on Ancestry.com for you. I did find an Arlie on the census report from EOSH and the age seemed in line with your Arlie, unfortunately there was no middle initial.

The records at Olney did not indicate Arlie A was a resident at EOSH, HOWEVER, if he did not pass away there as a resident, it probably wouldn't. The residents at EOSH that passed away while they were residents were cremated and are buried in an area where there are very few markers. And all information at the office does NOT indicate he was buried in that section. I will however, walk that section and look for a marker.

I did walk the section the office records indicate Arlie A. is buried but again, did not find a marker.

I might suggest you contact Burns Mortuary in Pendleton (541) 276-2331 and see if they have any additional information. That is the mortuary on record for Arlie A.

I will let you know after I check the EOSH section again one way or the other. If there is anything else I can possibly help you with, please just let me know.

I wish you the best of luck in finding your grandfather.

RE: Arlie A Patrick
I will double check with the office on the info again for the Arlie Patrick. Unfortunately, most of the patients/residents that were at the Eastern Oregon State Hospital were cremated and probably 90% have no markers. I will absolutely check on this again. I do have a photo of a general memorial marker for all the residents of EOSH. I can Post that for you if you'd like.

RE: Arlie A Patrick
Yes, according to cemetery records that is where he is buried, there just isn't a marker. I'd be glad to take a photo of the plot for you if you would like.
