Hi Steve,

I'm back, I found a lot more articles about your aunt's murder. I would love to email them to you. Cedric didn't spend the rest of his life in prison, seems he was paroled on Jan 17, 1960 and died November of 1966, two years before "Bud" died. (wonder if there was a happy reunion)

If I ever get a chance to go back to Ely, not to sound disrespectful, but I would like to see just how close "Bud" is buried to your Aunt. Being the evil man that he was, I hope there was some good in him and that he had some respect for your aunt and that he buried himself far away from her. Hope you don't mind if I keep researching information for you.

Best Regards,
Bernice

Hi Steve,
Nice to meet you. I am so glad I was able to help. What sad circumstances surrounding your aunt's death. I did a little more researching and I did find a very short article on Cedric Cole's trial.

Poisoned to Get Woman, Gets Life

Goldfield, Nev. Oct. 30(AP)
A 66-year-old saloon keeper today faced life imprisonment for poisoning a man whose wife he coveted.

The jury, which deliberated only an hour and ten minutes last night, found Cedric Cole guilty of slipping deadly poison into John Karlheim's gin drink. In returning the first degree murder verdict, the jury recommended that Cole, be sentenced to life imprisonment.

Cole's scheme to get the woman failed, the prosecution declared, because Karlheim's 49-year-old wife, Morrela, sipped a drink from her husband's glass. Both died last July 8.

District Attorney Peter Breen told the jury Cole coveted Mrs. Karlheim - not for love but for $200 monthly alimony from a previous husband.

Steve, I did find an article on dear old "Bud", it's a long one so I will copy and paste it to his memorial, very interesting reading. (He looked like a crook !)I am now on a mission to find out if Cedric died in prison and if he made any statements before he died.

Take care my new friend.

Mark' Mom Bernice.
