RE: Hunt
Another thing, the reason Butterfly Kisses has so many memorials is because she probably spent years going to cemeteries or researching all those memorials she has added. Believe me...it is a lot of hard work! I've added 6000+ memorials and 11000+ photos myself. I work full time and have spent my own personal time walking cemeteries to gather all this information and take all those photos and then upload the information which takes forever it seems.

I am very thankful for those individuals that have taken the time to go out and collect this information and uploaded it to share with others. I continually add to my family tree due to the efforts of people like Butterfly Kisses. I like to have control over my own ancestors memorials but if someone doesn't want to transfer to me so be it. They've earned the right to transfer or not. The only thing that would upset me is if I add information and someone does not update the memorials. Then you have recourse and can contact Find A Grave admin. The last time I read over the Find A Grave guidelines a person has 30 days to make your suggested corrections.

RE: Hunt
I would suggest reading Find A Grave guidelines about transfers. It is under the link on the left side of each page titled Help with Find A Grave.

No one has to transfer any memorials to you unless: "Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

There are some people that just don't like to make transfers and there are others, like myself, that will transfer if you are related in some manner.

I always want to know, before I make a transfer, how you are connected to this person. How are you connected to Moore and Carrie Hunt? 2nd cousins, great great aunt and uncle, etc.

Please let me know.

Hello,

You made requests for updates on Moore & Carrie Hunt's memorials that I have created. How are you related?

I see Butterfly Kisses said no transfers due to Find A Grave's rules. That is not true. It is up to the individual that created the memorial whether they will transfer or not. If it is within 4 generations then they have to transfer unless they are related also within 4 generations. Personally, I'd rather see the memorials in the care of someone who is truly interested in the memorials because it is a part of their family/history. I always ask for transfers unless I see they have it posted on their page they they won't transfer outside the 4 generation Family First rule.

I noticed you are new to Find A Grave. I would also want to know, before I make any transfers, that you are truly dedicated to the genealogy of your family and this is not just a passing fancy and the memorials will be neglected after a few months.

No Mr. Todd, No transfer. Please read the Find A Grave guide lines before requesting transfers. This memorial exceeds the 4 generation rule set by Find A Grave. If you have come here to contribute that's great, but please follow the rules that were set for all of us to use.
