Originally from Grant County, Kentucky, I completed military service & settled in Columbia County, Georgia. I am married and work full time. Really enjoy getting out to take photos when time permits and I always learn a thing or two from the process. |
I love researching & attempting to locate old grave sites that are off the main road (so to speak) and may not have been visited for a very long time. My hope is to assist others who wish to piece together the past.

The wording's fine by me, Jerry.
Thanks for your trouble.

Joan's youngest son and family recently visited the ancestral home and scattered the other half of her ashes at the Giant's Causeway on the north coast of Ireland. You may like to add a brief note to that effect.

Have some news I wanted to share:we "hillbillies" are "cousins". I had been told since childhood that Vernon was a different set of Cliftons. Research shows they are the grand children of my 3rd ggpa and great grandchildren of my 2nd ggpa, AND their sister, Thelma, married my uncle.
Did you find "Stewart" Cemetery and what you were looking for?
Hope you have a great Holiday.

I'm still working on bios and connections of all those buried at the Mercer Cemetery. Through your adding (and transferring) the memorials and headstone photos, I have been able to grow my Mercer family tree quite a lot over the last 3 days. I know my Dad is watching over me while researching and is very pleased and thankful to you as well. He remains my inspiration to continue working on our family trees. He got me interested when I was 18 (a LONG time ago)!
I knew there would be a connection for Lil James Plummer Dodge to the Mercer and Dodge family memorials there and sure enough ... he is a grandson of Palmer "Plumer" Dodge and Isabella Catherine Mercer Dodge. James' mom, Mary L "Mollie" Few of Black Hawk Co., IA, married "Plumer" and Isabella's son, Robert Palmer Dodge on 18 Dec 1873 in Morgan Co., GA. Sometime after the death of Lil' James they moved to Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., IA. The continued to reside there until their deaths - RP in 1917 and ML in 1922. Except for finding other siblings for Lil' James, his story is almost complete.
Thank you for sponsoring his memorial and the lovely quote you requested be placed on his memorial. I think you will be pleased. Go have a look! Memorial #147755712
Have a great weekend!

Thank You so much Jerry for telling me and adding the headstone picture.
Blessings to you,
Williams Photo's in Walker Cemetery
Mam, I am sorry to say the office had no record of John Henry Williams. However, I found his wife and have posted her picture. Just for information...beside his wife was a young woman named Judy M Williams and I created a memorial for her. Her marker picture was taken and her memorial number is 147720841. I hope some of this helped, Jerry

Thanks so much, Jerry!
You have made my weekend ... and longer than that!!

Jerry - You are Wonderful ... sorry you got caught in a soaker. I understand about trying to make out the inscriptions. Some of them are pretty good still considering their age and condition. Needless to say, I am extremely grateful for all your work. Ha! I stayed up all night working on these Mercer family descendants and many of their connections. Chased down burial locations - in GA and TX. BTW, I'm originally from TX. My Locklin and Mercer roots take me right back to GA!! So, I guess you could say, "I'm home away from home!" I love every minute of these crazy family puzzles we try to piece together. You have helped me tremendously in ways you may not realize.
I look forward to sending the transfer requests and I thank you for your generosity!!
