You have Thomas Dean was born in Seneca Co, NY, Jan 1830. Where did you find this info? It may help in my research. Marlea

Based on death notice in an old Geneva newspaper. Please contact the memorial manager, which is Find A Grave, to delete or change the memorial if you have conflicting information or doubts. Not related to nor know this family.

Thank you for your gracious reply. Would mentioning something to that effect on your memorials be helpful, so as to deter other "helpful" folks from trying to suggest additional information and links? I know with Pleasant Grove in particular several people are working hard to fill in information and photographs, but I'm sure none of them would want to keep bothering you [I have my own family at Pleasant Grove, and sure would not want to intrude. If I ever do again, it is simply because I contribute hundreds of obituaries to existing memorials, and may not remember the prior interaction.]

So, then you know Robert was a Mayflower descendant?
Robert Sr is documented on page 195, Vol 2.
Of Robert, Jr:
"iii: Robert, b. 26 Jan. 1744; living 25 Nov. 1775 when he was named in his father's will. We can find no military or other records for him. Further search in Bristol county deeds and Little Compton probates indicated here."
That's because he was in Vermont!!

RE: Robert Handy # 124286750
I did an extended search for a Robert Handy, under 6 variations of the name, birth from 1730 to 1750, New England.
One match, of the birth date documented in D.A.R. and S.A.R. records of circa 1745.
Record is from The Tan Books, Swansea, Bristol, Mass. Vital Records of Swansea, page 140.
Also documented in NEGHS records.
"Robart Handy the Son of Robart Handy and Rachil his wife was born 26 day of January, 1744".
Rachael was Robert, Sr's 1st wife.
Robert Jr. is also listed in the probate records of his father, dated 23 July, 1784, Bristol, Mass.
Based on the birth place of Hannah's brother-in-law, Sisson Cole, of Swansea, Mass., I feel this is the correct Robert Handy.
This is based on years of research on the Hunter family.

Picture requests
This is a sample of how I make picture requests:

"Please take a picture of the tombstone of William H Olmstead and let me know the exact words and dates on the tombstone.
Thanks,
Zoe"

Authors frequestly guess at the dates. The tombstone pictures really help to set things right. No book is a Bible, when it is written 100 years or 50 years after the fact.

There is a saying that we never really know the total truth, "we are always just approaching it."

William Olmstead
Hi, I am sorry that I am so behind on my E-mails.
I notice you are very interested in the Olmstead people or this one.
I don't like making transfers when there is a question about dates. Could you make some picture requests on the Olmstead people for me?

Let's figure out what the tombstone says, then I might be willing to make some transfers to you,
so you can add info., links, etc. Are these your relatives?

I did just link William to his "alleged" parents, but let's fix these records for sure with the tombstone pictures. Okay? I don't like linking folks if there is a question.

Dorance Austin
Will try this again...my uncle is
Robert F Austin, son of Walter Austin, son of William H Austin, so of Adelbert Austin, son of Dorance Austin

He asked me to work on the Austin line for him to get a book together for his grandchildren, so am trying to get it all done as soon as I can. Thanks for sharing. Carole
