Recently started doing a family tree through and found that Find A Grave was very helpful. So decided that maybe I could do something to help others through this site.

Promised photo of permanent headstone is finally posted on Joanie's memorial. We are so happy the cemetery finally has it in place. We were beginning to think it would never arrive. Best Wishes....Roberta

Hello...We have made several tries at getting her headstone photo. Finally, went with the cemetery's marker so there is something with dates on her memorial. We will continue to look for a more permanent headstone installation and with your permission will replace this one with the permanent one. Right now, we have no way of knowing if one is on order. Wish we could do more, but we won't forget her...Roberta

RE: Irene F. and Cledis Marchant
I have transferred Irene over to you and corrected the death date. You will need to contact the person who created Cledis's memorial to have him transferred. ~ann

Harry K Reel photo request
Since Harry died in 1922, and I've already photographed and/or documented 99.9% of those who died that early, (or am in the process of doing so) I was compelled to research him to find out how I missed him, plus he's not in my Greenwood books, which he would HAVE to be if he died prior to 2001, and would be in a lettered section - which he'd HAVE to be having died in 1922....

The person who created the memorial put the incorrect birth year, which I changed. Harry was 49, not an infant as their date would have suggested.

So, you can look at the memorial where I've added the Carey Hand Funeral Record and undertaker memo, plus the cemetery index card, which states "NO LOCATION". None of those provide a clue as to his burial location.

That's the first time I've seen that.

You can check with Olga, but it's my guess that he's in a "strangers' row" section or potter's field section, and his grave is unmarked.

She may have another secret way to look it up - but when the index card says "no location", and the funeral home doesn't have the location on their record...I don't know where she would look next.

Good luck!

RE: Mildred Smith in Greenwood
Good morning Charles:
I agree whole heartedly! My eldest sister and I started roaming through cemeteries in Graham County, NC in the early 80's and also knocking on doors looking for our Adams relatives. It was amazing what we found and how cordial and informative the people were that we spoke with. We really really hooked!
It was only about 4 or so years ago that I happened upon the Find A Grave website when looking for high school classmates for a reunion. It has almost doubled in size since then.
Anything I can do for you in Tallahassee or the surrounding areas, including South Georgia, please let me know.
