Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Harrison, Arkansas and raised at my family home in Vendor, Newton County, Arkansas. My family has been in Newton County since the 1800s, and studying their history and the history of all our neighbors has always been a fascinating hobby of mine. I'm especially interested in Southern history and heritage and plan on devoting a large amount of my time here identifying Confederate vets. I would also like to elaborate on my family here. I'm still learning everything on here, so if I make a mistake, list a duplicate memorial, or if you would like a transfer, please let me know! Also, if you have an ancestor that is a Confederate veteran that I don't have in one of my virtual cemeteries, please let me know and I will be honored to add them! Thanks so much!

In regard to George Washington Park buried in Fort Douglas Cemetery, he is a veteran of the Mexican War....not Civil War.
Two of his sons served in the war, however:

George Jr. served in Company D, Jackman's Missouri Cavalry Regiment. (Got an Oklahoma Confederate Pension in 1915)

Leonard served in Company H, 7th Arkansas Cavalry Regiment 1863-1865. He is buried in Fort Douglas Cemetery with his father.
