RE: Archidbald McKinnon
In your second message you asked whether I am part of the McKinnons who put up grave markers for Peter's and Mary's parents (Robert and Agnes McKay), and I'm not sure of what Peter you refer to. I am descended fro Archibald McKinnon and his first wife, Mary wife, Mary McKay, whose parents were Robert and Agnes McKay; however, I don't know Peter.

I suspect that it was the Jane Brough side of the family that put up those markers. They are organized into one of the largest and strongest family organizations around, the Ricard Brough Family Organization (RBFO), and have done that sort of thing for their Brough ancestors. I don't know whether they did such for my great-grandmother Mary McKay CKinnon, or not.

Just a quick note. Tomorrow, or Saturday, I'll be emailing you with the information I've found.

Another word before I retire for the night. Your 'guess' about Archibald telling Ada of the McKinnons of Scotland is documented somewhere in the things I have read of him. I reviewed my copy of Randolph - a Look Back tonight, and could not find the story. It maybe in other books I have researched. I will find it.

Is it alright to use the email address you have posted in your Find A Grave profile to email you, so we can more readily communicate?

It's great to hear from another relation. You revealed some things to me that I had read about, and brought a new focus to some researches I had set aside, for the time being. I don't believe coincidence happens when it comes to Family History, so I will be happy to look into this, for the both of us.

Regretfully, no, I don't have any more about Sarah, at the present time, but I will seek, and see what comes our way.

Regretfully, the book, "Randolph - a Look Back" only had one relatively small printing, and all the copies I am aware of are in the hands of those that purchased them, or their descendants. Several years ago, a local rare books store had two copies selling for about $75 each. I wanted to purchase them, but couldn't get my wife to agree, since I have the copy I inherited from my father.

Last time I looked, about a year ago, the books were gone.

I am hoping to scan my copy, index it, and publish it digitally on the Internet for the authors, whom I've met and from whom I have received permission to pursue this.

So far, job loss has gotten in the way, but both my wife and I are working again (at the same place), so I am hopeful that this project may get off the ground again.

I'd like to stay in touch. I'll contact you again, soon.
