My grandmother set me on this journey in 1973. She asked me to record all the family info and stories that she could remember. Our family includes the Baxter, Golding (or Golden),and Rodgers family from Mississippi and South Carolina. As well as the Moffitt and West family. My husband's family is Bosma, Grimm, and Holthusen in Wisconsin:and Wade in Texas. If you think we are related, please contact me!!

RE: Bigham Family
Hello... I'm not related to this family. I was taking volunteer photos in this cemetery. I make a practice of taking photos of any that I see that are the same surnames as in my family, but I was just taking random photos at that cemetery.

Michele Mitchell was the one I was looking for. I don't know if she is alive, but with the information you just provided me, I may be able to find her. I would like to ask her first if she wants her grandmother's painting.

Thank you so much.

I had the message board disabled for a long time, because I have been verbally attacked a couple of times and I didn't want to deal with it.

I really would like to find a relative to give this oil painting to. I have done extensive research on the family trying to locate relatives.

I plan on contacting the Ellis Art Association where she was very active and also the Ellis County Museum. Either of them may want the painting. The person who found it just wanted it to come home.

RE: Baxter
I do not have any Baxter relatives in my immediate family. I believe I may have some back from early 1800 North Carolina, but have not been able to trace any of them successfully yet.

I leave flowers on the memorials for a lot of people; those I am related to and those I am not. Chances are the one you are asking about, I am most likely not related.

Rubye Blanche Baxter Davis
The only daughter of a Joseph William Baxter and Dovie Blanche Smith. She married Frankie Edward Davis and they had one daughter, Betty Jo Davis, who married George Gilbert Mitchell.

I am honored to have been give the task of trying to locate members of this family who would appreciate an original oil painting done by Rubye Jo Baxter Davis.

Her daughter's husband is deceased and I cannot locate Betty Jo. I am hoping you can help find the family. I live in Waxahachie. The painting was shipped to me from West Texas.

Please, let your Aunt know that Fort Sam Houston is such a beautiful place to be buried at. In fact, they were taking up a row of headstones the other day so that they could be leveled off. They take such pride in our soldiers and take wonderful care of their final resting place. I'm sure that's probably how it is at all National Cemeteries, but I can personally say Fort Sam Houston is awesome. With that being said, I can go out again and take updated pictures if ever needed, as I only live 7 miles away from there. If you ever need anything in San Antonio or the surrounding areas, please feel free to let me know. Sometimes I even get urges to take little road trips so if I'm in an area, I can always help out that way as well.

God Bless,
(And take wonderful care of you Aunt!)
