I would like to ask for a transfer of Mr. Henson's Memorial please. He is my grandfather's brother.
Thank you, Mary Hudson #48992039

Once again, I've read your message - and public messages from Megan Heyl (who manages but didn't create) the other memorial. Briefly - as I understand it, the 'original' cemetery changed names when it was purchased by City. IMO this further complicates the situation, because Find a Grave has BOTH cemeteries listed; that seems to create a situation where there may be multiple 'duplicate' memorials. I came upon this particular memorial due to searching for family of 'extended' family - and while I generally ignore entries that are simply 'duplicates' (I don't consider myself the 'Find a Grave police' and there seem to be many that thrive on searching for ANY errors of others...) this situation was just confusing to me. So, I have contacted Find a Grave - seems to me they need to resolve having virtually ONE cemetery with listings under two names. In my experience, they normally identify cemetery by its current name and add an 'also known as' .... but, I'm done with this individual.

Ok, I've looked at both memorials again. I usually ignore duplicates =- but in THIS case it's very confusing since the two memorials place the burial in 2 different cemeteries. You are INCORRECT when you state that Joseph W. (Willis) BEASLEY does not show up (search/index) in Oak Grove. So, now you've 'justified' your entry - and the other creator has 'justified' theirs. Seems to me YOUR memorial was created FIRST - and by Find a Grave rules, the earlier memorial is the one that stays. Occasionally they will merge, but in some instances they simply delete the later memorial. Mr. Beasley should be linked to his family (which is what the other person has done that you haven't) ..... and other memorial included middle name (Willis) not just initial - if your memorial ends up being one that's retained by Find a Grave it would probably be helpful if you'd add middle name. And if Mr. Beasley were linked to his family. Seems the name of cemetery changed - and rather than note that in cemetery name/details - in at least this instance a memorial has been created for each cemetery. I'm not even going to look to see how many more individuals are entered in both cemeteries....

It was brought to my attention that we both had memorials for Mr. Beasley. The memorial I maintain was "gifted" to me, so I had not done any research or could tell you where the original creator received her information.
I contacted Maplelawn Park today and spoke to the secretary. Joseph is indeed buried at Maplelawn, not Oak Grove. I inquired about why he isn't at Oak Grove as his death certificate states... and was informed that years ago it was called Oak Grove. The City of Paducah purchased 1/2 of the property and maintains it, and a private company purchased the other 1/2 and maintains that. The Beasley family plot is located on the Maplelawn Side of the cemetery.
So I added his death certificate to your memorial with a brief description for those researching his family.
I was asked what the inscription on the back of the large monument states, but the photo does not come up "clear" enough to read. If possible, could you please add the long inscription to his memorial?
Thank you and have a great searching season!

Thank you for your time and effort in taking the picture of Eugene Young McGregor. He was my grandfather on my mother's side.
It's people like you that makes Find A Grave successful.

I see that you have transferred management for my grandfather's memorial. Thank you. I have requested a gravestone photo.

Do you know if Eugene Young McGregor has a grave stone in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah, Ky.?
His memorial number is 129769792. He was my grandfather.
If he had a gravestone, I will request a photo.
Thank you. Sincertly, Burrus Young Rich
