I was in Stepney 2 weekends ago to visit family buried there and look for missing ancestors. It was so hot I had to quit. I do not live in the area it was a special trip I was making. Disappointed but I will return. I am so glad there is someone in the area photographing these stones. So many of my family's burial places are not known. That is why I made the trip down from Maine to try to find them myself. Thank you again and never forget how important this work is that we do!

I don't know why I bothered you with this. After I contacted you I thought the same thing. I had already created the memorials when I discovered the memorials for the ladies under Watkins with your photos on them. I am going to submit an edit and delete mine. I have the same book you are talking about and I have found many discrepancies so as I work I double and triple check. Last thing I want to do is create duplicates and perpetuate errors. Thanks a bunch and thank you for all you do on Find A Grave!

Hi Marion, I have been working in Stepney Cemetery and created a memorial for Rhoda Walkins wife of Hezekiah Walkins. There is a memorial where you have posted a photo for a Rhoda Watkins where it shows it is actually Rhoda Walkins. I wonder if you could post that photo on my memorial. Somehow the names have been mixed up. My memorial for Rhoda Walkins is #170187953. The same thing has happened for Sarah Walkins #92895150. Whoever created the memorials for Hezekiah, Sarah and Rhoda misspelled the last name. Thank you for your attention to this. The erroneous memorials are #9285124 and 92895150

I looked through all the Shermans listed for Delaware County and did not find anyone named Eliza.
There is a Lida A. buried next to Julie with the same death date. She is listed as the daughter of Everett and Julia and aged 17y 8m & 23d. Her memorial is #47194125.
Most likely the same person.

So sorry about the mix up with the photo. It is correct now.
The headstone had been broken and therefore is very hard to read.
According to the 1947 reading of Berkshire Cemetery the inscription is:
June 16, 1897
66ys & 5mo
