RE: Charles A Martin, Sr
You are most welcome. It was a pleasant day to be walking around this very old graveyard. And it was surprising exciting when I came across Charles M. Martin's grave, with his wife behind him. I felt like I had successfully completed a treasure hunt, lol. I wonder what the connection is with the other two buried within their plot?

I was very exciting when I found my grandparents' and great grandparents' graves on this site so I just had to see if I could do the same for others. I will likely try to find others when I get past some life events coming up.

Jane Verdier Calhoun photo
Hi

160 years of exposure to the elements have not been kind to the stone. I will try different times of the day and see if the lighting might allow better photo definition.

Coweta County, Georgia Cemeteries, published in 1986 and surveyed shortly before, has the following:

"JANE CALHOUN
w/o Col. J. L.
d/o Dr. Jas. R. & Eliza. Verdier of Beaufort, S. C.
7 Aug 1829 - 28 Dec 1856
aged 27 yrs., 4 mos., 21 days
"wife, mother, mistress, friend. In her infancy she was made a member of the Prot. Epis. Ch ....""

You're welcome. I don't know if you noticed, but I also posted a photo of her son that is buried next to her.
