Sorry
Kathy,

Please excuse the misspellings in my messages, using an IPAD is sometimes not all it should be.

RE: Descendant of Mabel
Kathy,

I'm certain that my cosin Debra will be pleased to make contact with you. I 'll send her your information today!

That road trip sounds like a lot of fun! It wold be great if you come to Utah, and especially grat if you can come by Salt Lake City and/or Randolph. I live near Salt Lake City. I'll send details to you later via email.

I think I'll look into seeing if I can get at least a small McKinnon reunion planned for late Spring.

More later via email, I'm looking forward to meeting you in person!

RE: Descendant of Mabel
Kathy,

Did you get my emailed response?

I don't know of any McKinnon reunion plans yet, but I'm hoping that a cousin I met just a month ago in Randolph will be able to tell me something. You are more directly related to her than I, as she descends from Archibald McKinnon, Jr., also. I can let her know about you, if you wish, and perhaps you two can get to know each other.

I and my wife hope to visit her and her husband on their ranch near Randolph in mid-October, weather and finances permitting.

RE: Descendant of Mabel
Kathy,

Thank you for your message! I'm always glad to meet new relations, and I'm glad that my memorials have proven to be useful for your own research.

Regretfully, "Randolph - a Look Back" was published at the authors' expense, and they could only afford the single printing. I know this because I had the pleasure to interview Mar Jean S. Thomson, and Jane D. Digerness, in Mar Jean's home in Randolph a few years ago. It is my hope to get the book digitized, with the authors' permission, so it can go up on the Internet, along with an Index that I hope to produce for it.

Mar Jean's home sits just north of the home my family lived in for the first 4 to 5 years of my life, and I used to play with her daughter, Brenda.

I have not heard of plans for a McKinnon Family Reunion. Earlier this month, my wife and I drove to Randolph, to look over and take pictures of my old home. As it was a spur of the moment sort if thing (due to a great discounted car rental deal), we couldn't call ahead to arrange to meet again with Mar Jean.

I did get lucky, though, when I ran into a cousin I had never met before. I am hopeful that once we connect via email or Facebook that she will be able to tell me whether any McKinnon reunion is planned. If not, perhaps we can kick off planning one.
