|Sharon Lindbloom||RE: Sweet Cemetery Location?|
Yes this little "cemetery" is located in the middle of whatever the farmer plants for the year. This year might be a corn field. Other years its been a soybean field, hay field whatever.
The last time we walked over to the area the stones are in very bad shape. There are just the two graves located there. A few years ago I called and talked to a relative of the Sweets.
He was about the fourth great grandson. Maybe 5th. He said he hadn't walked back there in years although he does live in Jones Co. The cemetery is about 1 - 2 miles from the farm I grew up on. Would be nice if a school group or genealogy group could restore the stones and take care of it. There is a dirt lane that leads off the main road back into the field and then you have to walk over to the cemetery.
Any chance you are related to the Sweets?

I drove around until I saw a farmer who took me way out on a 4 wheeler to the cemetery. It can not be seen from the roads. I would never be able to find it again.

|Paul Rolfe||McCurdy and Epperson|
Thank you very much for the photos of Samuel and Anna McCurdy and of Jessie Epperson. Jessie is a real enigma for me since she appears as a stepdaughter of Samuel in the 1880 and 1885 census so the name Goblisch appears to be a married name. It is further complex because the name Epperson does not seem to come from Anna McCurdy whose maiden name is Clark. However, Samuel's mother's maiden name is Epperson. She may be something other than a true step-daughter? Anyway, your photos are great so I thank you and hope you have not had the same difficulty getting photos that we have here - rain five days a week since March.
|Elaine Geren Wilkerson||RE: Beachler Cemetery|
All I have right now is what I posted with the cemetery, L. Beachler Cemetery located in Sec 34 of Jefferson Twp., Buchanan Co., IA. I can get better directions from a lady who has been there and is very familiar with the area. Let me contact her and send you more information. It is on private property and you would have to get permission. Are you related to this Boon/Boone family?
|Cindy Cornwell McCachern||Thank You|
