Hi Fred,

I'm surprised his headstone has not been found yet. According to some military records I've seen on, his wife (Mayola) did submit an application for a veteran headstone back in 1955 to be placed in Evergreen. I've walked that cemetery a number of times, but there's always a chance I could have overlooked his memorial. You might want to try contacting Sanford Museum on Find-A-Grave. Their member number is #46928764. They seem to have a lot more information on Evergreen burials including exact plot locations. Hope they can help you out.

RE: John P. Carroll 1911-1945
I could not find him in any of my records so it seemed like a strange request for someone in the Aleutian Islands.
As it turns out Shanley Kerls (#47334504) already has a photo request in for that person. She made the request a week before you sent the email to me. Be patient there are Volunteers that live near there. I took that gate photo over 5 years ago and haven't been way over there since then.
For future reference:
1. Contact the Cemetery (Toll Free) and get the burial plot (which verifies burial is there).
2. click Request A Photo button.
3. Post the Burial Plot in the comment field of that request.

Welcome to Find A Grave, we were all new here once. So we understand. You'll get the hang of it. In the meantime...
Celebrate Volunteerism!!!

Re: Walter L. Pringle
I had no birth date because it was from cemetery records. I didn't take the photo someone else did. I have put a birthdate when you brought to my attention that there was a grave photo with the birth year. I don't know if he had family in the area but I have found 2 obituaries in the obituary index of the Longview Public Library. They were Andrew Pringle 1903-1974 & Ismay Pringle 1912-1990

RE: John P. Carroll 1911-1945
Hi Bob,

It would really be helpful to see a photo of the subject grave stone. He was a corporal in the army and died on Amchitka Island in the Aleutians. I would like to know the exact date of death and maybe his birth date.

Many thanks!!

Hi fred jones or Pete???
I guess the above makes sense to you...
Is there a reason you sent this to me? or did you send this to random people?
