Bio and Links
Bio Photo My mother and I have always liked to visit cemeteries. People may think it is morbid, but we like looking at old graves and imagining their resident's lives. My fiancee works at a Genealogy library and told me about this site and that they use photo volunteers. I just had to come.

Update: Now I am having so much fun finding and linking family members. It's like giving them a place.

Our family goal is to find who my great-great grandfather was staying with when he was shot and buried in a field. William Andrew "Taylor" Wilson. It was 1913 outside of Grady, Ok. In Jefferson Parish. We have been searching for about 20 years. If anyone has old family stories involving a shooting and burial in a field in this area, please let me know. The story goes he was shot by the sheriff over the sheriff's wife. Never reported in news at the time that we can find and no death certificate. We would really like to know his final resting place.

William Taylor Wilson
I am wondering how you came to believe William Andrew Taylor Wilson died in Grady, OK.

The reason I ask is I am seeing many parallels to my ancestor, William Taylor Wilson.

Mine was born Feb 17, 1877
Census records have him born in Texas, mother born in Texas, father born in Texas. I have been trying to eliminate your William as mine, but it is curious that in the 1880 Census, he lives with his widowed mother Florence and very near to a Tidwell family in Upshur, TX.
My William Taylor Wilson married Samantha Belle Tidwell in OK in 1897.
It is possible that your difficulty in finding more details on your William is that he did not die in Grady, OK but lived until his death in Colorado 1947.

I will continue to work on this, but again, I wondered about the source for your story. If I find more details that firm up the possibility they are the same man, I will share.§ion=details&person=LK32-W9X

Hi, Amy!

Are you managing the R(ussell) H. Coates memorial because he's an ancestor of yours? I'm trying to figure out if his daughter Ellin is my ggmother. Just curious...

RE: Sunset memorial Park
I stopped by the cemetery last week and found the plot where Guy and his wife Ida Mower are buried. The lady in the office showed me the burial card, or I would never have found it, as the graves are unmarked. I took a picture of the site, if you want it. It is in Section B, Lot 293.

Yes, I remember you, in fact was thinking about you a few weeks ago. Did you ever find a grave for Katie's husband, Wilson (don't remember first name)

Guy Hite Mower
I called the office at Sunset Memorial Park and they have "G. Mower" and his wife Ida listed there. According to Guy's death certificate (, his wife's name was Ida. Could Hannah be her first or middle name? I got the grave locations and I plan on going by there this afternoon after I get off work.

RE: Sunset memorial Park
I don't have a burial list for the cemetery, but I live and work in the area and would be happy to run down there and see if I can find the markers for the Mowers. If I find them, I will add the photo for Guy and give you the info so you can create your memorial for Hannah.

I left a couple of sentences in his bio with the info you provided. Not sure how to link siblings without parents' memorials.

Look on a public post I just made. It will show a spot to click and find his place of burial.
