RE: Col. James Cochran
Hello Lisa and thank you for all your time and efforts! The information I have is from a card entitled Crawford Co. War Veterans, Crawford County Historical Society. It indicates he fought in the War of 1812. The card states that he died in 1850 in Meadville and that he is buried in Greendale Cemetery. He was with the 1 Brig, 16 Div. Pa. Mil. It also indicates Plot 2/142. There are also some notations on the card that I don't understand. They are "CDed. Mar. 5, 1850 and Dem. higJ. Mar. 2, 1850" Would that mean anything to the cemetery supervisor? Do they have a map that shows the location of Plot 2/142, maybe in a Veterans area? If so, is there a different person buried there or is there no gravestone at that location? If this doesn't help, can you give me the name and/or number of the cemetery office or the individual who helps you? I hope to visit the cemetery next May or June. Thanks Again Ruthann Kent Grace

Thanks so much for taking and posting this photo of his grave stone. Can you tell me when this photo was taken?

I'm trying to determine if his wife Helen is buried with him. Surely she has passed by now, as she was born in 1915, but I cannot find a record for her, and as you can see, a date of death is not inscribed on her part of the stone.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks so much for taking the pictures of the graves of Samuel and Mary Cooper. I haven't been to that cemetery in a long while so it's great to have pictures. Yes, I knew Franklin had no marker or at least none that has survived. The family was originally buried in an old cemetery in downtown Meadville but all remains were moved to Greenwood many years ago.
