|Dave from Dallas||Cleone Clair Dillavou|
Thank you for letting me know. I have corrected.
I am not related (at least not directly) to Cleone Clair Dillavou, and although I do not often get a chance to pay my respects and visit cemeteries, this particular gravestone was curious to me since I am related to the Dillvous' who lived in Greene County Iowa, not too far from Jefferson. The patriarch, James Dillavou (born in 1825) owned several hundred acres of prime farm land in Greene County. When his daughter died he donated several acres of his farm land for the first cemetery in the area, and allowed all in the area use. I'm glad you spotted Cleone Clair Dillavou's memorial. It sounds like you had a special connection with him, and I am hoping you would be willing to enter a nice memorial or perhaps a short biography telling others of your dear friend so his memories can be appreciated. So, I have transferred his memorial to you, but if you prefer not to keep it, please transfer it back to me. Thank you.
By the way, Cleone is Greek for "Glory".
Dave from Dallas.
