I have been researching all lines of my family tree for 15 years. Recently started to research my son's lines too. |
I have generations buried in DC going back 6 to 7 generations, some longer. I am related to Abraham Lincoln through the Shipley's, and to George Washington through the Binns/Alexander/Ball side.
The City of Alexandria, Virginia was named after some of my ancestors, and my Binns family owned a farm/land in Langley, Virginia, where the Pentagon now sits, as well as land in Loudoun and Fairfax, VA. The Binns' were the first County Clerks in Loudoun County. During the War of 1812, the Declaration of Independence and other important documents were hid in the Binns' family home (Robeky) vault in Leesburg, Virginia.
I grew up with my mother's side in a large immigrant Italian family from Teora, Avellino, Campania, Italy, and identify as Italian-American. Teorese, Capisce?
I like to peruse through local cemeteries, taking photographs to contribute to find a grave, especially the around areas where I find my relatives, i.e. Fort Lincoln (Maryland), Mount Olivet (Washington, DC), Glenwood (Washington, DC) and Rock Creek Church (Washington, DC).
Last names from Teora, Italy:
Candore/Condore, Porreca, Rosamilia, Di Maio, Melillo, Iacangelo, etc.
Last names from around the Warren County, North Carolina area:
Loyd, Stevenson, Harris, Lancaster, Davies/Davis, Mangum.
Last names from the Frederick, Maryland area:
Shipley, Baker, Keller, Hartsock.
Last names from the Washington, DC area:
Binns (VA), Alexander (VA), Ormsbee (VA), Norton, Barker (Baltimore), Ware (Nebraska and Missouri too).
Last names from Ontario, (French) Canada and Washington DC:
Parent and Bissonette.

"Pardon this mistake." It doesn't sound like there's any crime to pardon, assuming you're working on the best information you have. As a result of your request, I gained the experience of exploring a mausoleum. I wish you luck in finding your great-great uncle.
|Cathy and Tim Sheffler||Frank Guidon / Glenwood|
Hi, How sure are you about Frank Guidon being in Glenwood Mausoleum? They have a registry that appears to be complete. I searched the entire list for anything like Frank Guidon or Gaetano Porreca, but found nothing. There was one person with a first name of Guidon, but the last name was something unusual like Levengludes. That tomb had no inscription, so I couldn't see if the birth year happened to match. Although there are a number of Italian names, none seemed close.
|Roibeard53||RE: Angelo Forcella|
You're very welcome. If you'd like any other photos posted to other memorials, just make the usual requests and I'll take care of it.
I accidentally posted a photo to the memorial for Angelo J Forcella at Gate of Heaven Cemetery when I meant to post the one for Angelo at Holy Sepulchre. Even though I deleted the photo, that mistake caused your request to be "fulfilled" and deleted from your open requests. Just make the request again and it will be restored. Sorry about that.

My online family tree is very incomplete. I have a more descriptive one that I would like to share. Yes, I would like more info on Charles F. Parent.
If you would like to view my Monica tree, please email me at email@example.com.
|Tracker John||RE: Parent family|
Yes, Emanuel Joseph Parent is my 2nd Great Uncle who married Louise Marie Monica. I do show Charles F. Parent in my family tree, but do not have his parents.
Regards.........John P. Heintzelman
Is that a new rule? Can you show me where to find it? I would prefer to be able to post all obituaries but copyright laws, and previous Find-a-Grave rules, prohibit posting those newer than about 1930. Thanks

I'm sorry but I can't post copy protected obituaries.

|rebekah myers||Mack stones|
Not to keep spamming your wall, but I just wanted to let you know that I am editing the original request you filled (126662660) for Catherine Mack to be the person listed on the stone so that the picture matches the person's info. I have confirmed that she is a different person, though coincidentally, likely still family. I am going to create a new Catherine Mack Beuchert and re-request her picture - in case you or someone else makes it out to section 52. Anyway - thanks again for your patience with my rambling. :)
