My wife and I have been married for the past 30 years. We are retired, live near the temperate Central California coast, and enjoy collecting antique glassware from the early 1900's. I became aware of Find A Grave and wanted to volunteer. I appreciate how important it is to have a gravestone picture to help complete the story of your ancestors. I want to make that happen for many other people. I've also rediscovered that I like photography.|
USE THE EDIT TAB for whatever you want me to do. PLEASE don't send me an email.
If you want me to transfer a memorial to you, just be related to that person, and DON'T FORGET TO USE THE EDIT BUTTON, that's all. If I'm related, too, I may keep them. I'm not going to get uptight about transferring. Happy Volunteering.

I received a nice message from the SLOCGS reference librarian, with pictures of memorial plates, and hints for further research.

Steve, Talk about a quick response, and a beautiful photo too. Thanks again for the great tip. Just to let you know, I volunteer to take photos at Mountain view Cemetery in Oakland, CA. They have over 1,000,000 resting souls there on 425 acres of land & within 4 mausoleums, but only 28,000 known Find A Grave memorials(I've added almost 1,000 myself). Their system is still in book format and the manager of the office there has threatened to kick me out of their cemetery because I take up too much of their clerks time. once every 3-4 weeks, asking for burial locations, primarily because photo requestors fails to do so. She wants to charge people $15.00 a pop for asking for this information. I've been sending a standard warning to as many requestors as I can, hoping that they'll bug the offices so much, that they might change their policy.

Many thanks for your friendly advice about the San Luis Obispo Cemetery. I will send them an email, an see what I can get.
My maternal grandmother was a Zuiderweg, and all Zuiderwegs in your area are relatives.
greetings from Driebergen, UT, The Nethelands,

Thank you very much for taking the time to send me this information. I really appreciate it. And thank you very much for your work on Find-a-Grave. Sorry to hear about the uncooperative cemetery people. She was the first wife of a distant grand uncle of mine. Another volunteer just recently posted photos of her husband's (and 2nd wife's) grave locations. They are unmarked graves and maybe Elizabeth's is, also. I will check on it.

Thanks for the information, Steve. I'll check with the San Luis Obispo Gen. Soc. Sandra
For letting me know about the Spurlock requests. I'm sorry you've been threatened by the cemetery owner. Seems so unnecessary.

Steve, I wanted to thank you for your invaluable help in this photo request. It's too bad there are cemeteries like this out there. But your reply was great to hear and I'm sure I have other family members in this cemetery, that I just haven't requested photos of yet. Again thank you for your knowledge and help. I sent my request out to SLOCGS, just a moment or two ago.

Ok. I will contact them thank you!
Yes, I tried to get a location for my great aunt who died in 1900 as a 2 month year . I called that ******* and asked nicely, but was asked for her first name, I explained that the birth and death records only said infant ir baby, he said yes she's here, graevis unmarked. But the baby with that death date has a name. Ok what? But NO if I couldn't guess the name then to hell with the internment location and everything. He wouldn't tell me anything. I hat that man so very very much. When I calked back he said he'd tell me... for a $50 donation to the cemetery., they might be able to get the info. Boy! Well I though maybe someone in the area might have luck,t it sounds like you have been through heck trying to help people out, sorryM and thanks so very much for informing me of the problem!
