My love for researching my family's history comes from my grandmother Lois, who we affectionately called "Ma-Mah." I spent a lot of time with her when I was young and I learned all about the family history of the Wilsons, Roups, Kynetts, and Lunds. |
Names I'm researching and would like info on -
From: Linn/Johnson/Cedar County, Iowa:
Wilson, West, Perry, Kynett, Weaver, Morrison, and Hammer.
From Polk/Jasper County, IA:
From Madison County, IN:
Wilson, Perry, West, Busby, Weaver, and Hammer.
From Hancock/McDonough County, IL:
Steepleton, Aten, Bartlow, Gleason
I try to pick up photo requests when I have time. I'm very interested in adding bio information for the memorials I have. If you can find an obituary for one of my memorials that doesn't have one, any info you could provide would be helpful. ** PLEASE DO NOT POST PHOTOS/SCANS OF OBITUARIES ON MEMORIALS -- they take up photo space. Send me the text of the obit and the source and date via the suggestion tab on the memorial and I will add it to the bio section ** Memorial transfers will be done within FAG Guidelines. However, if the person is not a relation or a friend of mine then I am willing to transfer a memorial. Please feel free to ask.
**ALSO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE ANY OF THE PHOTOS I HAVE POSTED AS LONG AS IT IS FOR PERSONAL AND NOT BUSINESS USE**

|Tiffany Roup Laventure ||I am a part of the Roup family!|
Hello. I asked my grandma, Norma Roup, about my dad's (David Eugene Roup) family history. She mentioned Guy, Emma, William and Doris. I went back further on this website and it stopped at Jacob. It is quite amazing! My dad was from Clinton, Iowa. He had my brother first, Eric Long in 1982 with the girl he was with. Then he moved to Clinton, Michigan. Met my mother, Janice Marie Pulsipher. He then had me in 1988 Tiffany Marie Pulsipher..had my name changed back to Roup when I was a baby, and then two years later my sister, Crystal Ann Roup in 1990. He committed suicide. My mother is still alive, as well as my brother and sister. Me and my sister never met our brother in real life. I think he resides in Arkansas now. My sister, mom and myself are now in Pennsylvania. My grandma Roup and most of my family resides in Michigan. My husband and I have a daughter Zoe Jane Laventure. We have a baby in heaven that we lost in February. And we have one on the way..due in December. My sister has no kids. Our brother has a daughter.. Jade Long. It would be great to know more about my family history.

|Jennifer (Hoffman) (Covyeou) Parcell||RE: Dallas J Wilson|
I did not know Ellen or Dallas for that fact. I contacted another family member who is doing the family tree and this was their response.
"I remember the name Ellen, but not Clement Wilson. Here is what I recall and I called Katie to pick her brain. When Katie and I were very young I recall a drive to one of the Dakotas in my dad's little Crosley car. We were taking Ellen to I guess friends and I would bet it was after the divorce from Dallas. Katie thinks the family name was Stump that we took her to. I remember the ride back because we drove the last little while on flat tires! I do not remember Ellen. Wonder if I could find divorce info here. I have no memory of Elsie being with Dallas. Only with Ed Mack. When I think back I only remember ever being at Dallas's home once and only outside. Isn't that sad to have no memories of your grandfather. It was interesting seeing his signature on the marriage license. Clement and Dallas were probably related. Cousins? Sure wish Mom was here, I know she could fill us in with details"!
I did however just find the marriage license for Ellen and Dallas, which was fun to see his handwriting.
How and where do you fit in the Wilson tree. Are you in Iowa? Do you have an Ancestry account?
Keep in touch.
Thank you for the correction & I have added her complete obit - per your request

|AJ||Donna Jean Daley Lund|
UGH! I started re looking over my info, and the reason I thought this was incorrect is that Donna Jeans mother is named Kathryn Wulf Daley, and she is not listed in the 1940 census with George and his wife Nellie.
Because his father Thomas is listed on his marriage record to Kathryn, and also stated as living with him in 1940 when he is married to Nellie, I will agree with you to leave it as it is.
I am assuming now, after looking over the info more closely that maybe he and Donna's mother divorced or she passed early on, and he remarried to Nellie (Whom he is buried with)
I had begun to think there HAD to be two George Daley's, but now I think he had just been married twice. Sorry to send edit without rechecking my info.

I was amazed at the stone of Margaret B. West Tyson! Can you tell me how you did this! I have several stones in my family that are in the same shape. Thanks!
|N J Martin||ELIZABETH JANE BUSBY|
Can you tell me why you think Elizabeth Jane Busby (you have her as Jane "Jennie" Busby Perry and she was mar to Henry Perry died in 1838 and is bur in Busby Cem? Do you have some sort of proof???
We never found a stone for her there in all the days we spent there and someone gave me a death of 1834. Not saying she isn't buried there but with no proof, you might want to say in her bio that you think she is buried there just in case someone else knows when she died and where she is actually buried.
Who knows there may be a family bible somewhere with the info.
Henry Perry did have a wife in 1830 living with him and children in Madison Co IN and I do not have his 2nd marriage so not sure when he mar her, so depending on when he mar 2nd wife, that may be her??? If you know the mar date for 2nd wife that would also be a clue to when Elizabeth Jane (Busby) Perry died.
|N J Martin||OBITS|
Yes Obits prob should be put in the Bio section not where pictures go. I guess when I started doing Find A Grave there was no limit on how many pictures etc... Of course now Ancestry owns Find A Grave they bought it from the man who started it, which I find annoying bec he made money from what all of us poured sweat and hard work doing and we got nothing!!! LOL!! OH WELL!
Now can I ask you why you think Esther Ann who mar James Biddle was a Slaughter and why you think she is the d/o John & Sarah?
I don't find Esther with James Biddle in 1850 and I don't find her at all in 1850 either trying Esther or Hester or Biddle or Slaughter and I don't find Sarah with John either I think maybe she died March 1850 (the census was taken in Oct that year) and perhaps her year of death is incorrect on the stone as 1851 or poss Sarah was in a hosp or institution???
|N J Martin||OBITS|
Could I ask why you do not want anyone to scan a copy of an obit to a memorial? That is a very very good way for someone to know if it is the person they are looking for and also get information that they may not be able to obtain.
