|melanie||RE: James & Edna Hammonds Sampson|
It has been so nice to hear from you. I ordered the book that you mentioned, and I should receive it in the mail Wednesday.
My email is email@example.com
I live near Boone, NC, but travel to Pembroke a few times a year (My maternal grandfather's surviving brothers and sisters have their family reunion the first Saturday in July).
I have some copies of pictures that I can also send you that were loaned to me and I have promised not to post on ancestry.com or findagrave, but I will gladly send to you for your personal use.
My mom used to catch the elementary school bus at the home of her great grandparents (Willie Foster and Callie). She has very fond memories of both of them.

I Just looked through a preview of the book on Amazon.com. I had come across the title before during my research but did not realize it had a picture of James and Edna with their family.
James had the big "Sampson" moustache, too. Youngest brother Robert is the only one of Grandpa Sampson's brothers that I have seen without one!

I would be very interested in photos of James and or Edna. James was the brother of my great great grandfather, Willie Foster Sampson, Sr. Ressie Sampson Larson, daughter of Willie Foster, Sr. and Callie Lowry Sampson is also alive and well (just turned 90 in June) and lives in Albuquerque, NM.
I have Atillia as one of James and Edna's daughters on my ancestry.com tree, but I was not aware that she was still living.
I have seen photos of Grandpa Sampson's mother and several of his siblings: Charity, Flora, Mary Delia, Ellen, Everett, Robert, and Oscar. I have been compiling this info for about four years and recently made a family history book for my maternal grandpa's surviving siblings and gave them copies at our family reunion in July.
It was so nice to hear from you.
