I'm a genealogist of opportunity. That is, I work on my trees of interest when and where I have the opportunity to flesh out the skeleton of a tree, beyond dates and places. I'm particularly interested in the women, as they are usually less well researched and are more of a challenge to track down. I learned early on the value of "casting a wide net" beyond direct ancestors. Those ancestors were affected, lived and moved around as parts of their larger families and communities. I look to include and interweave the stories and resources of collateral relatives and what their descendants have inherited in the way of mutually interesting and helpful details.

I also believe in using my research, and the skills I've learned, to pay into the great genealogical favor bank by sharing publicly and to encourage beginning family historians. We all benefit from the huge volume of contributions of other volunteers.

For the above reason, I upload the most recent versions of my trees on rootsweb/ and include notes and sources. With a few exceptions, the memorials I've created, and the ones that have been transferred to my management, are for people to whom I'm related. I welcome collaboration and your additions of photos and information. Probably best to use the edit tab on a particular memorial page to communicate with me.

Name of member sending info
If it is an automatic edit, impossible to spend the time. So far as any other acknowledgement, we were instructed by moderator A.J. to not do this "shout out", as it took away from the dignity of the memorial. Also, findagrave is a graves registration site and i am a tombstone reporter, not interested in genealogy. Plenty of room for that kind of stuff on other sites. So far as a transfer, out of guidelines, links can be sent via EDIT and a reasonably short bio can also be added.

Probert at Association Cemetery
Thanks for the input! As you can see by the grave marker, it is slowly fading into the past due to age. I recently finished photographing the entire cemetery since there are some VERY old markers there, some no longer legible. If you have any other data on the Proberts buried in Association (or anyone else), just let me know and I'll add to their bio. It's especially important since death certificates didn't exist back then! Again, thanks for contributing! Happy Hunting, Pamela

RE: Grave stone photo for 36216150 is wrong one
You were looking at the large stone. Look toward the bottom. There are 2 plaques and one of them is for Susan. I think correct photo.

RE: Memorial# 88770856
Susan, Hello!, and thank you for the contact on the Boyd family. Dorcas Green Boyd Knapp would be a 4th Great grand aunt to me. Her sister my 4th Great grandmother! Therefore, Francis Boyd Jr is relation by marriage. I would very much like to hear from you some more on your family search. FindAGrave has been great. I am very partial with the Knapp-Bouton Cemetery on FindAGrave, as there was not one memorial entered when I found it. Lots of research to add them all in and great help was given to add the photos. Made some good friends. I never have been there.

With regard to adding married names together, no, that is something definitely not to do and it will not enable, search results of either name, thus, please do not do that. A maiden name is the only surname someone is born with. The only place to place a married name from a previous marriage is in the Bio. "Thems" the breaks right now. I have hit dead ends even when someone hyphenates or uses () or nay other character. I am glad you asked before you got very far along. The search in the help section has good answers also.

I see Francis had 5 children by his first wife Sarah and 6 by Dorcas. Jeremiah Knapp deeded the land from his farm for the burial of his second and third wives. So that is something to know regarding Dorcas.

Thanks, Greg

Memorial# 88770856
Hello, thank you for contacting me regarding the memorial for Doracas. I hesitate writing out her full name, as that is your edit request. I am writing to say that I understand she, and her sister Olive, were born of the Green family. If you could mention your understanding I would be very much appreciative.

a 4th great grand step-nephew.
