Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi. I am a woman living in Central Pennsylvania. While working on my family tree, I found Find-A-Grave very helpful. So I am "giving back". I visit cemeteries & post pictures of select graves. Most of my pictures will not have the stone cleaned or altered. I show the gravestones as they are.

Respect is important. I try NOT to share any new information about living relatives; BUT... I believe information on a grave in a public cemetery IS public information.

Wishing you good luck in your searches. ~ W.

RE: Shingler photos
I know how dates can be inconsistent. One thing about PA death certificates- I've seen so many with the wrong birth dates. So many, in fact, that I've made it a rule to trust the headstone over the death certificate unless I have more documentation to back up one or the other.

I've even seen the wrong death day! So just a word of caution- don't trust them 100%. They're only as accurate as the informant supplying the information. Sometimes that can be a hospital staff member in a nursing home.

Good luck in your search and if I can ever be of help in the Johnstown, PA area, don't ever hesitate to ask.

RE: Shingler photos
You're very welcome. I don't know how far you're researching the actual Shingler line, but there were quite a few Shingler's buried there, so as I walked the entire cemetery, I photographed all of the Shingler's. It will just take me some time to upload them with all of the other photos. If you're interested in them, just keep checking back. Also, PA's death certificates are public record from 1906-1963, so if I find them, I post them as well.

Thank you for the correction. 'Happy fingers' sometimes get too many letters in a name. Correction was made and thanks.

RE: Photos
Thanks so much. I sometimes have a clone demon working on my computer that keeps replicating the last page I make for the day. I'll log back on in the morning to find I have up to 8 duplicate pages, so I have to be on the alert all the time for that.

You put a duplicate photo on my page here # 38689259, so will you please remove it? There are 3 alike photos on the page, which isn't necessary. Thank you.
