Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have just started within the last 2 months research into my ancestry. My family consists of pioneers of Dallas.
The family surnames I am researching so far are as follows
Elam, Lanham, Slagle, Pratt, McClenaghan/McClanahan and Harvey.

I am stuck on The Mclenaghan side with confusion of a marker and obit with the name James A McClenaghan however the dates and the obit are perfect matches.

I live in SE New Mexico and travel to Dallas, ElPaso Carlsbad and Roswell often and would be happy to fulfill photo requests.

For Photo requests in Roswell I have gotten a bit behind, I will try to make a day soon to go and do some more pictures, I am just waiting for it to cool down a bit outside, last time it was 100+ out and I thought I would die right there ;) I will be out there soon so thanks in advance for being so patient with me. :)

RE: Ancestor
It appears that a Mary Moyer wrote the information about John McClenaghan

Also, there is "Harvey" who wrote some information on one of his relatives.

RE: Family history
I believe that the lady who provided the family history may have been named Mary and her name disappeared shortly after you sent the message. I'll see if I can find anything about here.

Family history
The posting before mine appears to give the family information that you are look for. I am not related but I did the posting because he was a Union Veteran. I share your thoughts about family research. Most of my cousins have limited interest.

Ancestor
I am glad to help you find your ancestor. I was looking for Civil War Vets buried in Oklahoma when I found him.

I was born in Hobbs NM. Do you believe that the space ship crash at Roswell really happened? Ha Ha

Ok, Here is what I have found....John Albert McClenaghan b.17 Jan 1881. On the 12 of Sept 1918 he and Blanch were in El Paso where he registered with the Draft Board for WW I...So now we know his name, spelling and birth date! How do you know that he died in Oct of 1918 and buried in Pleasant Mound cemetery?

Seanna, Yes you and I are 4th cousins...Nice to meet another branch from our tree. :)

I am trying to help with finding JA Mcclanahan but need more info. If his death cert says he is burried at Pleasant Mound then he should be..Am not sure what you mean about both cemeteries..Do you know when he was born and where, death and year, and where he was in 1910.I will see what I can come up with. How many children did he and Blanch have and names other than Frances Jean.

Hello Seanna, If you are speaking of Isaac Newton Elam b.Abt 1803 And Margaret Lanham Elam b.25 Dec 1812, Yes they had 12 children. The one you mention as Martha Adaline b. 27 Sept 1845 Married Joseph John Pratt 17 Oct 1869 in Dallas Texas. Would that be your Martha? I do have the other childrens names. I stem from their daughter Nancy Paralee Elam.
