Schenevus Academy
One quick search and . . .

"In 1872 the Schenevus Academy was erected on Arch Street. In 1879 the school was changed from a graded school to a Union Free School. In 1911 the Schenevus High School was built at a cost of $25,000. The last graduation from this building was in 1940. Later this building was used to house fire equipment, the village offices and a glove shop. It was torn down in 1976 to make room for an apartment complex."

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Schenevus Academy
Though I've seen mention of the Academy in the newspaper articles from time to time, I'm sorry to say I don't know anything about its actual physical location ... sorry ... Much love, Kathy

Jane Tibbitts Tallmadge
Hi Luddy,

Thank you so much for the obituary of Jane (nee Tibbitts) Tallmadge. I've posted it to Jane's memorial page.

Everyone in my Find A Grave home page photo is a Tallmadge descendant...four generations of us, and I'm the youngest in the pic (it's a very old photo-LOL!).

With heartfelt gratitude,

RE: Re: Dorothy C. Howe, # 37647600

I don't have anything more on her. But she was my grandmothers' cousin and I knew her from our Rudd family reunions. Her and two of her sisters, I knew well, they were the Howe sisters to us at the family reunions. Her youngest sister died when I was only 4, so I don't really remember her. But Dorothy, Fanny and Ruth, I remember well.

I will keep looking to see if I can find anything more on her.

Thank You!

Re: Grace Mary Stewart Hammersley, # 138404619

Hi Luddy,

I couldn't find a memorial for her on Find A Grave. So I found her obituary and made a memorial for her. She is not buried with her husband, Grace is buried in Jerusalem Cemetery - Feura Bush, Albany County. I provided you with her memorial # above. I also linked her to husband William. Are you by any chance related to them?

Sorry, I only create memorials for obits that I come across. I don't know most of them. Good luck in your search.

Yes, I added the memorial page to Find A Grave--but I thought your message was something about photos. The name under any photo shows who added it...
