I started in Genealogy about 25 or so years ago.|
This all started because I make family calendars every year, and got to the point that I did not know who is who.
Also, if I have no other photos, at least if all possible, link the tombstone pictures to Family Tree.
Retired 20 years ago as Elec. Tech. and fully active in computer repair still, for family and friends.

It seems that you have inadvertently duplicated many of the graves in this cemetery? Please delete the duplicates that you have created.
Thank you for your attention to this.

You're very welcome Gerry.
I've been trying to catch up on family burials. I check to see if anyone needs photos at the cemetery I am visiting, and try to find them.
It looks as though the cemetery merge has occurred. A search for Brothers takes one to the Mt St Charles where you can see the name aliases listed. There is no longer a separate Brothers.
Find A Grave has a de-duper program but it won't work unless the memorials are exactly identical in the name and date fields. My observation is that they are not.
In any case it was an honest mistake on your part. We have a few like that around here and it does get pretty confusing at times.
Probably the best way to remove the duplicates is for you to scan the interment listing and compare the memorials. Then write to the Edit address at Find A Grave and ask them to *merge* each duplicate into the corresponding original. That way you won't have to re-enter any additional content that you added.
You'd need to include URL links for each dup and each original. If you do a few each week, eventually it will all be sorted out.
IMO, you don't want Find A Grave to wholesale remove all the ones you added because not all of yours are duplicates and you have some really nice photos that would be a shame to lose.
I hope that helps.

There is probably a formal "official" name and a local name that everyone calls it. That happens a lot. I made an entry yesterday after searching for "Brothers" and got the redirection.
I noticed there were quite a few duplicates listed. After I'd sent you 2-3, it appeared there was a pattern emerging. You might want to check the other entries. Just a thought.

Hi, Gerry. I manage his site but did not request a photo of his stone. I am transferring him to you. I enter veterans' burial locations and his was one I entered. I added your information. Please add the source. Thanks for sending the obit. Families are important and he should be with you.

Happy to help Gerry. I live about the same distance away as you. We sometimes stop by to visit my parents at the cemetery on our way home from the beach. Today we planned on taking pictures of their stone and since we had the time, I decided to fulfill other requests while we were there. It was pretty easy since the cemetery is set up in a very organized way. Have a nice day!
Thank you for adding photos! I really appreciate it.

FYI, you can use the same photos for the other names on the monument.
