Bio Photo Bringing life to stories of the past...

I am the youngest Grand Daughter of Charlie Jenkins and Lessie Myrtle Bennett. As a proud Bennett I am in search of stories and photos of the past that link us all together.

To know a name is wonderful, but to know the person and face is amazing.

Bennett Family of Lumberton
Candy,
My husband is the grandson of Mary Hinson, sister of Catherine Hinson, who married Johnny Bennett. We are sorry to hear his "Uncle Johnny" died this year. Chris has many fond memories of visiting his Aunt Catherine and swimming in the pool, and of her grand piano. If you'd like to share memories, please email us!

Candy, Yes, I'm related to the Websters in Webster Cemetery, Marlboro County. My grandmother, Daisy Lee Webster Patrick, (buried Center Grove Cemetery, Chesterfield County) was a daughter of Logan W. and Laura Jane Parker Webster who are in Webster Cemetery. I visited Webster Cemetery about 25 years ago looking for the actual sites but could not find markers. I went back a few years ago only to see that the Fed Gov't has the whole area fenced in. I was told by a relative in Marlboro County that the graves were going to be removed to another location.

RE: Webster
Hi, Candy:
I'm not related to the Webster's. If there are any of your family members that I've set up at the Webster cemetery, and would like for me to transfer them to you, just let me know.
I'm very curious about how you were able to locate the cemetery on the prison grounds!

CINDY BENNETT
HEY HEY HEY
Just checking in.. I created a memorial for Peter Bennett and wife Margaret.. then did their only son John Jenkins Bennett with his wife Sarah Almon. Now I'm working on getting the 6 children linked to John and Sarah. Have 2 so far and requested links to 2 other children. There are 2 children that we have no idea when or where they are buried. Its a work in progress but there was a lot accomplished this past weekend. Hope you are doing good.

RE: Webster Cemetery
Hi, Candy. I've never been to the Webster Cemetery. I have two directions to the cemetery that I found on a Marlboro County geneology website,. Both directions are difficult to understand to get to the cemetery:
1. S. 35-55 Hickory Grove Road.
2. Hwy-9 towards Cheraw, turn right on Hwy 55, go about 1.3 miles, turn left on dirt road, about 200 yards on left.

The contact person 13 years ago was Barbara Cope Svetlick. I have not tried to contact her.

Good luck,
Pat Yearty
