|Portia Little||Additional Information- Thomas Sherod Nowlin|
Deb, I am a descendant of Thomas "Tommy" Sherod Nowlin, whose record you compiled for the Elmore City Cemetery. (His wife: Letha Ann Moore Nowlin) Their daughter Victoria(#3 on list of children), born 3-16-1880, died 2-5-1923, married William Solomon Dotson (not DODSON) born 3-3-1880, died 3-13-1952. Stones are not pictured, but they are both buried in Elmore City Cemetery. Victoria and William Solomon had (2) babies, possibly twins, that died at birth or at a very young age, who are buried there, but with only small stones with initials carved into them. (I have learned this recently, and haven't been able to look for them yet.) They had children: Archie Franklin Dotson, born 7-31-1906, died 2-8-1971, buried there, and Thelma Mae, b 9-21-1909, died 1-12-2001, buried in Newkirk, Kay Co, OK. Archie was my father, so this is information known, not calculated, and I would be glad to help if you need anything further. If you could make the "Dotson" change/s, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you! Portia Dotson Little

Do you want George and his wife?
|Dean Hirst||George McEntire|
Looks like I'm going to give you this one. I use three different sources, sometimes four, when I work on a memorial. rootsweb.com gave Georges mothers maiden name as Mayse. In ancestry.com the California Death Index gave Mayse as his mothers maiden name. Many times parents will give the mother's maiden name as the childs middle name, thus the middle initial "M" left me with the impression that Mayse was his middle name and therefore, his mother's maiden name. Checking in ancestry.com tonight for Sarah's parents I find that Cash is more than likely Sarah's maiden name. Additionally, Sarah's mother was Lee Ann Mays which is probably where George got his middle name Mayes. Spelling is not a big thing here, Mayes/Mays. There is a lot of that in out ancestral records. Thanks for calling this to my attention. If you look at George's memorial in Find a Grave you will see some additions. Bye
