Reba Jayne Wilder Carman
I was born in Albany and raised in the Dougherty County/ Worth County Line area and have lived within a 2 to 3 mile radius my entire life. My mother was Reba Mae Branch Wilder (from Laurens co. GA) and my daddy was Charles Leroy Wilder sometimes called Roy Jr. or C.L Wilder. It is kinda weird because he really isn't a junior unless you go by his initials or call him Roy. He was Charles Leroy and his dad was Cosby Leroy. Both were called Roy and CL at times and thus daddy was Roy, Jr and CL Wilder, Jr. Anyway he was born and raised in the Acree area too and his family roots in this are goes back to at least his great grandpa and maybe one more generation back to his great- great grandpa. My Great Grandparents with other families started FBC Acree. I grew up on the family farm on which my great grandpa was born. My dad was the fourth generation to farm the land and my brothers help him but never farmed it on their own. I do have two older brothers who were 18 and 13 when I was born. I was the only girl and baby in the family. My parents met when my dad went to Laurens Co. Ga to work for his grandmother's brother (B.F. Cochran). They married and moved to south GA in Dec. 1937. In Dec. 1985 I married the love of my life, Timothy Bryan Carman. I honestly believe that God brought us together because my friend was praying that God would send me a good man and he did. We had our first child Joshua and almost 4 years later we had twins Chris and Kaycee. By this time we had been married almost 8 years. At the time of this writing we have been married almost 28 years and I can honestly say that he has stuck with me through thick and thin, through the good times and the bad. I have always had an interest in genealogy and have had a couple of relatives that were very interested. It has only been recently that I have been able to get a little involved in genealogy. In the past I haven't had time or resources to do very much. I have had some info passed down to me that I would like to follow up on when time and finances permit. I just recently joined FAG and look forward to adding information to family memorials and addings others. I have my first grandchild on the way and want to perserve as much family history as I can for my children and grandchildren in hopes that one day they too will be interested. 11-16-13
