RE: Appreciate Whitmire Cemetery photos
Edith is not buried at the Whitmire family cemetery. She died in 2003 and is at Greenlawn. Her obit is online at:

I actually have to back quite a few generations to connect the folks buried in the Whitmire Family cemetery to my line! But the family patriarch, Francis Whitmire Sr. is there! I have a listing of the tombstone someone had made back in 1979.

I don't live in PA; I moved away over 20 years ago when I was a teenager. Sometimes I wish I did, as I would love to be able to visit the library and/or courthouse and look up stuff. On thing I'd really like to look up concerns my Great, Great Grandfather Robert J. Whitmire, who died Nov 23, 1913.
See Memorial# 102975245

The story I heard was that he was in a terrible accident involving his automobile and a train, and that he perished but that his daughter and grandchild survived. I've not been able to confirm this story.

Thanks again for all your hard work visiting the graves, etc. It really is a great service to others.

RE: Appreciate Whitmire Cemetery photos
Thank you so much for the use of the images.

I very well may be related to your friends!

Here is my grandmother, Edith (Whitmire) McClain, in wikitree -
I've been working on entering my ancestry in wikitree. I'd love some collaborators! (hint-hint)

Thanks again,

Appreciate Whitmire Cemetery photos
I really appreciate the photos of the Butler area, the Whitmire family cemetery is especially important to me as my grandmother was a Whitmire. Is it acceptable to use photos you've taken for my records elsewhere? I'm currently using Wikitree for my genealogy documentation, and I'd like to include tombstone images, where available.

You are most welcome! Happy to be of assistance. Regrettably, Essie's grave has no marker.

Thank you for the photo of James and Ruth Gilghrist's final resting place in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Butler Co., PA.

Your efforts on behalf of these distant relatives of mine are most appreciated.

Harry Getz / Gate of Heaven, Los Altos
Hi, wanted you to know that I will still add a photo of Harry's actual marker, for today I just added the photo of the section where he is at rest. I was up a GoH this afternoon but a funeral in progress near his grave prevented access.

All my best,

Blackburn's Daughter
I was able to make the husband and wife connection, but the children have be connect to the parents through their individual memorials. I sent a note to the creator of their daughter's memorial and requested he connect her to her parents.

I've connected the memorials as you suggested. Please check them out and let me know if I've made any errors. If these are your family members I'd be happy to transfer the memorials to you...
