You commented the DOB was not correctly calculated, but offered no alternative.

I use the following program to calculate dates:
http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html

According to the age at time of death:
From Wednesday, March 6, 1907
Subtracted 72 years, 8 months, 26 days
(per headstone)

Result: Sunday, June 8, 1834

It is always best to provide the alternative when you disagree with something. Please advise how you calculated the DOB and what date you get.

Thanks, JMartin

David Fenstermaker
Their suggestion:
-------------------------
I am nearly certain David is not correct. The 1900 Census (when Barbara was 62)
said she had 10 children of which 7 were living. The ones that died by then were
Adelia, Metta, and George. Charles was definitely the youngest since he was the
only one still living with them in 1900.

I always try to get more than one souce when documenting the files. Since I have two Ohio state records that indicate David is the child of Samuel Fenstermaker & Barbara Hosher - I will not remove him from this family record.

It's possible his name was Charles David and he lived to age 22. This may or may not be the right death record though, so I will not use it until I have another souce. I prefer to work with facts rather than suppostion. Thanks, JMartin

I haven't found a death record for him - probably died as an infant though.

I made the other corrections you sent, except one - could you advise where Ella's middle name "Forest" came from?

Thanks, JMartin

Re: Wilhelm Fenstermaker
Regarding your message:

I believe he is my great, great, grandfather based on previous family records.

My great great grandfather was named Samuel Fenstermaker, born in Canal Winchester, Ohio on June 3, 1832. He is not listed here, but appears in William's estate records:

William Fenstermaker's 1842 estate records, case #1930, filed in 1842, listed George W. Fenstermaker as the first administrator, and Nathan Fenstermaker was later an administrator. Names mentioned; sons Jacob, George; Mary, Catharine, Nancy, Aaron, and minor children Susan, Samuel, Gideon and Enoch. David Bish was
an heir. William owned land in section 31, twp. 16, range 19 and lot 14 in Etna.

"Fairfield County Will and Estate Abstracts, Cases 1001-2000, Jean Collier,
Fairfield County Chapter OGS, 1998, p 78.

Need to add additional children and this record cite. Thanks.

I don't think he is the correct William for two reasons:

1) Memorial# 29620286 Wilhelm "William" Fenstermaker (1793-1843) died in 1843 - so his will would not have gone into probate in 1842.

2) Memorial# 31138709 William Fenstermacher (1799-1842)is a much more likely candidate. He died in 1842 so his will would have gone into probate in that year and his daughter Catherine Fenstermaker (Memorial# 50728079) married David Bish (Memorial # 50728085).

Always happy to get information. I will add your notes to me personal records and update the Find A Grave files as necessary - if they are mine to do so. Thanks JMartin.
