RE: Mitchell/Clemons
Hi Peggy,

New Providence is a small town, and does not have a funeral home. The closest funeral home to New Providence is at Eldora. The contact information for the funeral home there is

Creps Abels Funeral Home & Monuments
905 Edgington Ave
Eldora, IA 50627
Phone: (641) 858-2181

If they handled the services, they would be happy to let you know where your grandparents are buried. If not, they may be able to suggest what funeral home may have performed the services.

Best wishes in finding where your grandparents are buried.

RE: Clemons
Hello Peggy,

I'm sorry, but I do not know where your grandparents are buried. Archie was born in New Providence, Hardin County, Iowa, and resided in Hardin County at least through the 1940 census. Iola and Rosalie were both listed on the 1940 census as residing at the Hospital for Epileptics and School for the Feeble Minded, at Cass Township, Boone County, Iowa. Their residence county was recorded as Hardin County (but read it as Hardee County).

The 1940 census also records S.L. and Mary D. Clemons residing in New Providence, Hardin, Iowa. Sylvia Clemons is recorded on the 1920 US census and the 1925 Iowa census, in the household of Spencer and Mary D. Clemons, so I agree that they are Sylvia's parents. I suspect that they are buried near New Province, Hardin, Iowa.

Sorry, it isn't much, but I hope it helps.
