Joseph Henry Linford
Hi Anonymous,

Welcome to Find A Grave! I appreciate your interest in Joseph Henry Linford, Sr. As you can see on his memorial, I did not create it, it was transferred to me without my request. I (and many of us) don't make corrections to memorials without a source(s) cited from the requester for obvious reasons. Since you cited no source, I did some research myself. I've updated his first name. Records for his birth year, conflict: UT State Burials and cemetery records show 1860, 2 others show 1850. Until another source, cemetery records will remain. All records I could find for death date show May 1899 but the day is different in 3 different sources. I'll try to find an obituary or other source to clarify that if possible. I see you requested a photo of his headstone, hopefully that will solve the conflicting records, though they can be wrong too! I usually go with the majority when records conflict, or the most reliable record, as I'm sure you do. For future reference, when making a request, some kindness, a "please," and "my records show," rather than telling someone how it "should" be will get you a lot further. I usually don't respond at all to requests that are stated as demands, "shoulds" and lack basic manners and kindness, whether a source is cited or not. I responded to this one because I see you are new to Find A Grave. Please contact me when your photo request is fulfilled so I can make corrections if needed. Hopefully we can get better answers with headstone photo, obituary, etc.

Hope you enjoy your weekend,
Annie :)
