RE: Carlton Cemetery, Orland, IN
Great! Just wanted to double check before sending the e-mail to them. Thanks again!

Wow!!! That is way different than the info says.

Just so i understand before i send the note; when you map that location it shows it is:

East of Orland about 3 miles
South of 120 about 1/4 mile

Does that sound right? Thanks!

RE: Carlton Cemetery, Orland, IN
At least early on everyone was a volunteer and they were buried in corrections. So if it hasn't been TOO long they may still work your requests. Hard to say, but we'd like to help any way we can.

It sounds like the cemetery is on private land, is that right?

RE: Carlton Cemetery, Orland, IN
Thank you Terry!!

We have worked a lot with the Find A Grave people, so maybe we can get them to correct the info. (For example, one of the counties we work with in Michigan had someone go in and duplicate about a dozen cemeteries which were already correctly in the county to the south! We documented and proved that they were all duplicates and the Find A Grave person removed them. That could have been a real mess!)

Is there anyway you could get the GPS coordinates of the cemetery? I've been looking at the google earth pictures and can't pick out the cemetery ~ probably because it's so wooded. We could send those to the administrator.

We'll get the ball rolling and see what can be done to help this cemetery. Since there are veterans buried there it seems like the Orland American Legion may be interested in helping clean it up.

Carlton Cemetery, Orland, IN
Hi Terry,

Great pictures of Carlton Cemetery in Orland, Indiana! We have tried to find this cemetery based on the maps (everyone seems to have the same one) and agree there is NO cemetery there! Could you please tell us where it really is? Thanks so much!

RE: Maude Lowther
Hi Terry,

Send it to my email and I will take a look. It may be Maude since she did die in 1899.
Thanks so much.

I have sent some automatic updates and they have not yet been completed. It is a relatively new way to update and perhaps you are unfamiliar with it. The tab is on your profile page in the upper right hand corner. It reads "Edits."

Thank you in advance,

Adam rsonand Catharine Patte

I much appreciate the two pictures of the headstones for Adam Patterson and his first wife Catharine. I have been looking for her burial for many years, not realizing it was right there although I knew she died in the area.

Thank you for including the picture of her gravestone. I would not have known for sure where she was buried had you not done that. I live out here in San Diego, CA so going to IN to look at burials is not so likely.
