RE: andrew hart simpson
I haven't been there since last summer. I'm adding memorials from the records and uploading some photos I had taken last year. I will look to see if I have any for him. I still have quite a few, but we took only a small portion of the cemetery. I'm not the only one that has taken photos. If I find a photo I will certainly add it to his memorial. Do you have a plot location?

James H. Simpson

Hi Richard -

I tried to enter your information on James H. Simpson, and was unable to do so. I think you have to enter the information from the site of James H. Simpson's Memorial, as under 'Family Links' on Andrew's Memorial, there is only the option to link his parents and his spouse, and not his children. If you don't "own" James' Memorial, I think you'll have to ask FranzJr to do it for you. Good Luck!

RE: GAR reunion Bradleyville,mo.
RICHARD: I've sent it via your personal e-mail. Please be certain to credit Cliff and Vi Edom if you use any of it publicly. Shirley Stewart with the Christian County Historical Society would probably be quite interested in a piece for the Historical Journal on the GAR. If you would be interested and have time, contact me via personal e-mail and I'll provide you with details. If you don't have time to do it, I could interview you by e-mail after the first of the year. -Brad

Elliotts
Hi Richard,

If you or your wife would like to take over managing the various Elliott postings I have made at Prospect here on Findagrave, please let me know. I'm not a descendant of that family myself - I just made a project of trying to get Prospect as complete as possible because I have so many relatives there and it's interesting to see how the various families there are related. Otherwise, if you have biographical information you would like me to post on their listings, I'd be glad to do that too.

Prospect Cemetery

Hi Richard,

Thanks so much for your message posted on Findagrave. I have been visiting Prospect since childhood (more than 4 decades) and almost all my mom's ancestors lived within about a 5-mile radius of it since the 1830s and I still get turned around sometimes trying to get there! :-) I looked at the map and if you were at 124 and 89 you were a ways east and north of where the cemetery actually is. Prospect is on West Farm Road 128, just east of Farm Road 45. For me, the easiest way to get there is to take 266 west from Springfield, then take a right (north) on Farm Road 45 right there at the ruined stone building called Plano. FR 45 kind of dead ends as it crosses West Farm Road 128, so you'll need to take a right onto 128 and almost immediately you'll cross a bridge over a creek. After the bridge, Prospect will be there on your right (the cemetery is adjacent to the creek you just crossed). You just have to pull off the road and park on the grass, then midway down the chainlink fence you'll see a small gate where you can walk in. The oldest graves are on the east side, close to the shed.

I hope you find it - it's a beautiful little cemetery!

Happy 4th of July,
Kelly
