|I believe in preserving the past. Everyone should know who their ancestors were. By adding to this site I hope to find and remember my ancestors and help others do the same. All that aside I love finding old graveyards. Something about them speaks to me. Weird-right! |
I do my best to be as accurate as possible when creating a memorial. Any corrections are welcome. Also I am very picky about the photos I add but believe any picture is better than no picture at all. If you have a clearer shot of a headstone please send me a message and I will delete mine. Preserving our past by recording it is a huge task that will be accomplished best if we all work together.
If you would like to transfer a memorial please use the edit button. I will gladly transfer almost any of my memorials to family.

Yes, I will accept the transfer of him to me. He is a several times grandson of the earlier Samuel Gentry. If a closer relation contacts me to transfer to them I will do so, but in the meantime I'll try to connect all the dots for this family line. Thanks!

Thank you for your efforts Jeannette! I appreciate all the time you have put into this project! On the gravemarker for Samuel I noticed his first name is abbreviated as SAML. Sam'l is a common abbreviation for Samuel but since the stone carver used all capital letters it looks like a middle initial, but it is really just his abbreviated first name. Samuel is a common name in my family, my own grandfather's name was Samuel as were both of his grandfathers, so I see this a lot when searching the records and on gravestones.

You sure have put some nice family photos on many memorials in Ohio County. They add greatly to the memorial. Thank you, DAM
You made a page for this cemetery but listed it had no road... It does have a road. I can't change your post but if you contact me I'll make a map for you to drive there.
I'm going back out tomorrow to fulfill picture requests on it.
My number is 270-256-8101

You attached what appears to be a Civil War military marker on the memorial for a man who died in 1816. I included his memorial number above. Unless I am wrong?

Thanks for adding the pictures. You are right, however, it is Cummings Cemetery. I added the cemetery..it is Grayson Co, Land of Rough. You will have to correct the ones you added. Thanks so much for your help!!
