|Bio and Links|
I started out doing this after working with my family tree and realized that our family cemetery had no actual records of its existence or the people who were buried there, I also realized with so many of our senior family members departing us it was up to my generation to find out as much as I could about our heritage, it began as a challenge for me to locate the graves of my 2nd ggf and 2nd ggm Alex & Malinda Weddington Blankenship and has snowballed into a fascination with our local cemeteries and the people who rest in them and here I am today still plugging along linking our present with our past, and so begins the journey of my people.|
I can honestly say this is truly a venture I am glad to have taken, since I began this journey I have came to know quite a few family members had I not undertaken this task I would have never known, if anyone finds information they would like added or I have added a relative you would like transferred to you please do not hesitate to ask. I do this for the knowledge of those who will come after we are long departed.
I enjoy adding records to me its more than scrolling through the news paper and putting a dob - dod, I see it as a way people can express their memories for someone.
I suppose my biggest pet peeve on Find-A-Grave is people who add names just to make their "Statistics" look good, so they setup a memorial and don't have the decency to put a bio of the person or the obituary that the news paper has printed, just my opinion its laziness.

Sir, I would love to take care of Mrs Shirley Temple Black's memorial. I just love her and have her book "Child Star" and "American Princess" that were about her. I love what you have so far and would love to be able to take over the care of her memorial if you would be willing to tranfer this over to me. My name is Christine Mousseau. I am a big fan of Find a Grave and have been a member for a while.

LOL, looks like yours was entered first! There have been several memorials made for her, but Find A Grave admin will eventually delete the others & take maintenance over yours. They've also been changing the 'editing' part. Mis Shirley's husbands links are;
6521308 & 11481081
if you would like to add while you still have "ownership" of it.

Thanks for that both added

With the message you sent me there was no info on the fathers Find A Grave memorial page ie.
here is the father of James if you can link it I'll try to locate his mother
Hello- I made the link from Palmer to Malcolm, but I also note there is some error on the dates of the father's memorial. I'm also transferring the son's memorial to you and wish you all the best in tracking the family history. - LRP

Greg, thanks for having all of these great pictures up. My father is buried in the cemetery. There's an error on his birth year. His name is Ralph Ronald Elkins and he was born in 1938. If you could fix it, that would be great. I wish I lived closer and could visit the cemetery more often. It looks like from your picture that the flowers I left the last time I was there are still up. Thanks again!

Thank you for your posting of my grandmother's grave stone. Living in Arizona I have never seen it before. I will share it with her children (my aunts and Uncle). Blessings for your work. Lynda
