Bio Photo Love researching for family histories and if there is a grave in Augusta County I will strive to find it. Tracing my family heritage is important to me and I'd like to help if I can.

I have been extremely ill for greater than two months, unable to respond to many requests sent my way, which under normal circumstances, I would have joyfully fulfilled. I will sign up again, once my health is restored.
Please accept my deepest apologies for any inconvenience, this wretched illness may have brought.

RE: Mildred Sellers Haines Mearns
Hi Jennifer,
Much of my information re: the Almy's has come from the Reeder tree...we've shared emails, etc. as we have several other ancestors in common. I don't have any additional information, and the photo's I have are from the Reeder tree.
I've seen mention of fold 3....but don't know what that is...is it a paid site?

Hi Jennifer,
The connection between our families, is Rear Adm. John Jay Almy. Ann Eliza Almy (your connection) and her brother Maj. William Ellery Almy (mine)
All Eliza Almy married Maj. John Taylor Haines. Their daughter is Mildred Sellers Haines (married Mearnes)

My Mildred Sellers married Maj. William Ellery Almy, and when he died, she married my great Uncle, Dr. Charles Wiltberger Platt.

I forgot to mention that I made corrections to David's memorial reflecting that he was cremated and ashes scattered around Goodwin House, and that Mary's body was donated to science. Thank you for the information and gave you credit for the information.

RE: Mildred Sellers Haines Mearns
Hi Jennifer,
I think your confusion about the second marriage, is that we're talking about two different Mildred's. My Mildred is Mildred Sellers who married Maj. Wm. Ellery Almy. After he died she married my great Uncle, Charles W Platt.
Yours is Mildred Sellers Haines Mearnes.
Distant relatives with similar names.

RE: Mildred Sellers Almy Mearns
Hi Jennifer,
My ancestor is Mildred Sellers Almy, wife of Maj. William Ellery Almy, Daughter of John Sellers. So there aren't two afterall.
I noticed you started a tree for David C Mearnes (Suffix)?
I'd be happy to help you...let me know what you need or who you need information on.

RE: Mildred Sellers Almy Mearns
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting me! I'm a distant relative of Mildred. My great Uncle Charles W Platt married Mildred Sellers Almy(his second wife) and her second husband. (her first was Maj. William Ellery Almy who died in Puerto Rico in 1901.
The only information I have is on Ancestry gleaned from various sources and is on the Chazotte tree if you have an account on Ancestry?
I so appreciate the photo you posted! Thank you again!
