At the age of ten I became interested in family history. My step-grandfather's sister-in-law was Leva "Dollie" Hager Bell. She and her husband Herbert Bell started picking me up and taking me to the Boone County Genealogical Society meetings at the library at Madison, WV. I meet many good cousins there. When I started I did not know they were my cousins but we figured it out. Jean Harmon, Janet Hager, Leonore Ferrell, Mr. Turner and many others helped me. I also meet Sigfus Olafson and was amazed at his level of knowledge of my family. Mr. Olafson was in his 80s and he had been good friends with my Great-great grandfather, James Iverson Pauley, when they were young men. He told me not only about family history and the names on the charts but knew many family stories. I am still a member of the Boone County Genealogical Society, although there have been many gaps in my membership since I moved away from my hometown. I am a member of The Cabell Foundation. I am eligible for DAR, Jamestowne Society and DOC but have not made applications to these organizations. Hope to get to it one day. I am related to the Miller (Turtle Creek and Rock Creek of Boone County,WV), Mitchell, Cabell, Stollings, Manns, Ball, Bells, Brooks, McDilda, Cummings, Hager, Pauley, Flynn, Bennett, Roberts, Chambers, Comer and many other families in Boone County. I have taken special interests in the Baisden, Adkins, Dolin and Bias families too because of families that married into my family.|

That's so sad. What a selfless act of love your cousin showed that day. I'm the one who is honored to transfer her memorial to you.
|Sandy Littlejohn||Claudette Vickers|
I added the information on her parents.
Would you like me to transfer your cousin's memorial to you?

Myra: I made the Jackie Butcher memorial transfer as you requested. I always try to help others. God bless. Rosa In Charleston WV
|Jenine Kimbler||Bell Cemetery, Big Ugly Road|
I found a cemetery on Big Ugly Road past the curve at Bender's Salvage sitting on the left hand side (coming from the Corridor G exit) immediately beside the road on a very small sliver of land that, at first glance, contained 3 graves (Jessie Ann Bell 1895-1957; Wm. "Bill" N. Bell 1893-1978; and Henry Bell 1914-1921). This area was mowed and clean. Jessie Bell is listed in the Bell Cemetery, along with about 40+ other graves, but this piece of land would not hold that many graves. When I looked around I found some very old unreadable stones over in the trees and brush line on the edge of the mountain and close to the road, but the mountain drops off steeply, and there were not more than 8 stones. Some of these stones were within a few feet of the pavement on Big Ugly. Is it possible that there are more graves maybe down in the hollow? Some of the graves listed for Bell Cemetery are fairly recent, so I'm sure I missed them somewhere, but on the right hand side of Big Ugly Road across from these 3 graves the mountain is straight up rock cliff so I don't think the paved road goes thru the cemetery. If you have any ideas let me know.

Your welcome re: the photos of Jr. and Cricket.
|Bryan Fields||Anoy & Beatrice Miano photo reqs|
Greetings - Calvary Cemetery isn't very cooperative in looking up grave locations to Find-A-Grave photography volunteers - they'll only do 3 at a time and recently cut me off from asking for any more locations. I was trying to add locations for the very large backlog of photo reqs for the cemetery; there's over 400 requests. Those that include the grave plot get photographed first, so I'd recommend that you add that info to the Find-A-Grave memorial page. Call 216-641-7575 for the cemetery office; they'll provide you 3 locations without charging you for them.

Hi Myra, I am in disagreement on your identity of Eliza Hager. She is the daughter of Joseph Hager 83964416 and Armilda Adkins Hager 83964436 and was never married. My mother used to decorate her grave as she was her aunt (sister of Edward "Ed" Hager, my mother's father). She was called "Sissy" and had Down's syndrome. WV death record http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=47466&Type=Death. I am aware that the date of birth on the death record does not match that of the headstone. In addition, I had always believed this burial ground to be called the Mitchell Cemetery.
