RE: Martha Collins
Nancy, very nice to meet you. My husband will be thrilled to learn this and to know he has more cousins. I, myself, never met Elijah, but I have seen so many pictures and heard a lot about him. I recall that he was told as a young adult to make a choice of either going to school or working the fields. He and Alwilda choose to go to school and became teachers. He later became a coal miner to support the growing family.

Elijah's son Castle is my father-in-law. Him I knew. He was a wonderful person, very colorful and extremely family oriented. Maybe the hardest working man I ever met. His wife, Alice was the family historian, she kept every birth, death and news clipping in countless binders and folders. If this lady had had a computer, she would have surveyed all of Floyd County, many times over.

Very nice to make contact with you and know your there. Look forward to perhaps meeting you someday in a Collins' family reunion.
