RE: Rosie-Union Cemetery in Lauderdale
Hi Betty, I changed the info. to Lightfoot Cem. for Rosa Lee Grantham... so sorry for the mistake.
My reason for it was because I couldn't find a Union Cem. for Lauderdale county.... and since the Gooch,/Gooches/Moss Creek/Mosses Creek cem. was first called Union cem. it was my thought that she was brought home for burial..
during the civil war there was a battle fought just below the hill from the cemetery, after the battle the dead union soldiers were buried on top of the hill.. and they called the cemetery Union Cem. and then later it became known as Gooch / Moss creek. Again so sorry for the mistake. I'm transfering Rosa Lee's memorial to you so you can make changes and edits when and if you need to. Hope you have a good day, Sue Harbin

RE: Sarah's look a like
So glad you found the pictures, my niece Sue Harbin and I have contacted a lot of the family to get as many family pictures as possible, so we could share with everyone. ( So our ancestry's would be remembered.) Nothing like finding these old photo's.
You might want to check back on the sites a little late, were are hoping to get more pictures in the near future.
I think my sister Rosa Lee Lowrance May and Grandpa Lowrance's sister Rosa Lee Graham favor a lot.
Good to hear from you.

Rosa Lee Lowrance Grantham was my grandpa's (Silas M. Lowrance ) sister (Rosa Lee Lowrance May "Rosie")was named by my grandpa Silas after his sister Rosa.

Mary Holley - Providence Cemetery Tippah Co, MS
Hi Betty,
Mary Rowland is my 1st cousin 4x removed. My sister and I have researched several records since I took this picture. This is what we have found out. This is Mary E. Austin and she married G.J. Holley 26 Dec 1878 in Tippah Co, MS. This information is from the Tippah County website. Mary Isabel Rowland was born 19 Aug 1853 and died 9 May 1919. There is a record of her death in Leslie, Searcy County, Arkansas. She married 1st Andrew Bradford Holley 1870(1 known child), 2nd Matthew McCall 1873(1 known child), and 3rd Finley Martindale 1877 (7 known children). All marriage records in Tippah County, Mississippi. I am trying to get a copy of her death certificate from Arkansas. Finley Martindale married Mary Curle in November 1919 (1 known child). I am posting a picture of the marker for G.J. and Mary E. Austin Holley. I have requested the originator update the memorial. I would be interested in your family tree as well as we are cousins. If you would like to share pictures or info please e mail me if you don't want to put on the public forum Thanks, Kathy

RE: John Eugene Canada
I did talk to my cousin, as this is her uncle on her father's side, and she made the comment that his name is on the backside of his parent's stone at Elmwood. Thanks for the additional info. Linda
