Joan Freeman Marcuse
Freeman Cousin
Hi , Any chance you are from Virginia originally? Edmund Freeman 1572 was my 9th great grandfather.
My Freeman line comes down through Edmund (Edmond )1596 ,John 1626,Nathaniel 1659, James 1700 James H. 1725, William Compton Freeman1754, Stephen 1801, Fountain E.,1834,James Enoch 1869, George Washington Freeman (my dad) 1909 and me. Because Fountain married a 1st cousin Iphagenia Freeman it complicates it further. There were also to different sets of Freeman's merging into the Compton family and then goes back to two sets when they split out again into Freeman's , at both ends. Looks somewhat like a y on top of an inverted y.
Have been trying to locate a Michal Freeman who's Dad was Reginald Freeman 1940 and Michal's brother Rodney, originally from Alexandria, Virginia. Would be glad to share any information I have on family so far. I now live in Kauai, e-mail . Love to hear from you . Aloha, Joan Freeman Marcuse

Cat F

Some where I saw his name as Charles. I'll have to come across it again and note where I found it.

Cat was married twice. At least I found two marriage records for him.

Mary Frances is buried in Sandhill Cemetery I believe.

Have you seen all the different Hartsvilles and Hatchvilles? Or are they all suppose to be Hart whatevers?

Got your message
Well nice to meet another cousin! My line is a different direction, not sure which though. I am trying to amass a comprehensive database on my Freeman family.

There are so many variables once you get back beyond the 1800's. Info on the internet is so different. You might have one wife married to a husband and then that same woman married to another according to some of the info out there so I am working my way thru actual records that show the truth. So that is why I am unsure of our relation.

My sister worked our family back in the 70's and I have some written records of Cat's descendants. What does his middle initial stand for?

I hope you enjoy your stay here at Find A Grave. Have you wandered into the forums yet? We have a blast in the lounge there, lots of fun.

Thanks for responding cuz!

Welcome fellow Freeman
I saw a token on Hartsville's memorial by you. Wondered how you were related
