RE: Rockwells in Pleasant Hill
You are very welcome! I did come across another Rockwell in the cemetery. Letha B. Rockwell, 1909-1954 Her headstone says "Mother". I created a memorial for her and added the picture. If you would like the memorial transferred to you just let me know. Maybe she is Everett's mother? Her headstone is not close to the other Rockwell headstone.

RE: Edmund Elliot Smith
Hi Nut! How delighted am I to find someone of your youth interested in geneology, as I myself became around your age. Fantastico!

You and I are distant cousins. Your grandmother, Gertrude Smith (Great X?) and my great grandfather Jesse Smith, were brother and sister.

Their sister Isadora, married and moved way down south, to Palestine, Texas. After father Edmund died, Mother Smith (Ellen), went to Texas with Isadora, where they are buried together. I have added them to findagrave, after a visit to that cemetery in Palestine, last year.

The other sister, Arminta, is buried in Chase County, Nebraska, near where my niece lives at Imperial, Nebraska.

My great grandfather Jesse is buried at Farnam, Nebraska, where he was a farmer.

Even by the time my grandmother Jessica was born, her father's family was already scattered, like tumbleweeds in the wind.

Getting to your question, I have your Grandmother Gertrude as being died in Imboden, Arkansas, in the year 1902. I have no idea why she was in Arkansas.

I have no obituary, nor record of her on findagrave. I supposed then, that I copied that information from someone on Ancestry.com.

I have her husband Hayden Petrie's obituary, from a newspaper in Yuma, Colorado, where it mentions a previous wife, which would be Getrude, but no specifics about her. Also, there is a photo of Hayden, and either Gertrude, or his later wife. Let me know if you would like me to send these to you.

Best of luck. For geneology is the journey of a thousand adventures!

Sincerely
Connie Fyfe

P.S. Check out my Findagrave profile. You will see a poem that I wrote, dedicated to Edmond Elliot Smith

RE: Florence L Barnacassle Brown
It's me again! I didn't find out a huge amount of info, but here's what I know - Ernest's father was William Richard Brown born Feb. 29 1848 (leap year!) in Indiana, died Oct 27 1902 in Gandy, NE. William served in Co D, 18th Indiana Infantry, as a private. He enlisted Aug 23 1882, discharge Apr 28 1864. He was a farmer and blacksmith. He married Mary Emma Bair. She was born Mar 4 1842 in Pittsburgh, PA. died Sept 26 1924 in Stapleton NE. Don't know the wedding date.

Ernest indeed died when a dump truck overturned on him, how horrible! He worked at the Logan County Road Department until his death, when his dump truck overturned on his way home from work.

Other children of William and Mary were: Izora Delnora, Laura Leslie, Charles Wesley, Lavinia Violet, Mary Viola, George William.

RE: Catheys in McGregor
I used to have a horse of my own and I miss her terribly. Sure she has crossed the rainbow bridge some time ago.
