RE: Sarah Jackson Powell Smith
He was NOT one of interest, his daughter had married into a family I had an interest in, particularly the wife's family of the youngest Smith.

I will some day uncover that booklet and will scan the pages for you. As I recall, he was quite a land owner in Nansemond county.

RE: Sarah Jackson Powell Smith
I believe I read in a book sent me by a friend that was purchased from the historical society at Suffolk, and it went into detail about his land. Given that was some two or three years ago I do not know where that booklet is, but when I find it I will send its name to you. Ezekiel Powell, was also cashiered by General Court Martial on 31 July 1813 (see A Guide to Virginia Militia Units in the War of 1812 by Stuart Lee Butler, page 147).

Sarah Beck - Fernwood
Just uploaded a photo of the stone. It was incredibly hard to read and even harder to photograph. As best I can tell, the stone reads:

Husband Gustav Gerlach
Aug. 6, 1870 - Sept. 25, 1894
Aged 24 years

Sarah R. Beck
nee Gerlach
1889 (could also be 1899)-1945
