Bio and Links
I have been researching mine and my husband's family tree for a little over a year. For my side I am researching Pitzer, Adkins and Perry, Palmer surnames and all secondary branches for my family. For my husband's family I am researching Moster, Thomas, Keleher and Shaffer surnames. I am happy to help anyone who asks and I welcome questions to the memorials I write because it keeps me on my toes.

JOHN BOON MEMORIAL
I wish to acknowledge your kind words regarding the bio for my 3rd great grand father, John Boon. However, I did not work alone on his bio. I bring to your attention a small sentence in the text. "Jerry Boone, another 3rd generation grandson has done significant research on John Boon and has made contributions to the writing of this biography." Jerry is a cousin and his contributions have been profound. It is the result of his research that has allowed us to detail and explain many of the questions surrounding John Boon's origins. Thank you again======Ron Humphrey

There was an Alexander Sr. and an Alexander Jr (also called "Capt".).

Here is my tree on ancestry starting at her...
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/53621679/person/26050868775

I copied it from other people. There are differences of opinion. Mostly you have to rely on other people's reference work when dealing past the census data times...

I have not worked on this part much. Since it is an established line and has been well researched over and over by many people, I rely on copying the other trees for this line.

In modern times two surnames would imply another marriage, but in older times a mother's maiden name was often given as a surname, perhaps as a way to keep track of genealogy.

I have added full dates and her parents' names to the memorial on findagrave...in case anyone can find them too...

I believe it was the way of the times that "Clifford" was her middle name and also her mother's maiden name, not an implication of a previous marriage.

I do not see any trees coming up with more than one marriage for him..

Hey Jeanette. I'm really not sure, I would have to check into that situation. As far as the birth certificate, it probably is Lona instead of Laura and someone illiterate wrote it out as most of the census records from old days are like that. It is possible that he was married twice but since Susan pops up more so than Alice, I'm sure Susan is probably her mother. Let me know if you would like me to look into it for you and sorry for the delay in response.

Sorry, names were reversed on her parents. Father was John Thomas Rose and Mother was Rebecca Drake. Correction was made.

Thanks so much. Mary

RE: Updated Information for George Boone
Yes you would - but when I asked for the sources and offered to buy a book - they got really defensive and said genealogist don't furnish sources.
They were trying to say all kinds of things -- like Daniel Boone is really James Boone??
Crazy

RE: Updated Information for George Boone

I have that book

I'm done trying to correct anyone - but the Boone Society paid for a genealogist to re-do things and really have lots of junk in it

I'm a DAR member via Jeremiah Boone

I don't ever remember that Josiah Boone married an Indian and the Bible I have says that Hannah was buried in KY next to Josiah ??? - I go by what the relates wrote.

Dr. Mayfield was also a friend of my great aunt and they wrote up alot of information on the Boones

I'm done documenting my line - everyone else can change their minds and people's names all they want.
Thank you for responding to me.
