You are very welcome. Thank you for your service to our nation! I love what you are doing for your Brothers in Arms.

It was my pleasure.

Yes, it's very sad. If there were no marker for his wife and him at all, the cemetery would make a stamped-concrete shoebox-sized marker with name and date in lieu of having nothing at all, but since they HAVE a marker, with their surname... well, yes, sad. I had hoped you were family!
And you are very welcome.

Hi, in posting the photos of Charles's marker, I see that two years ago I had already posted it. It remains unmarked by the family, and only the family or friends can initiate the marking of his half of the stone. I will be happy to re-take the photo once it has been marked.
Meanwhile, please feel free to contact the cemetery office to get the contact info of memorial makers in the area. It does not need to be the original maker; any of them can be hired to amend the stone. They will come out to the site, take a rubbing, match the fonts and style, and come back to carve it on site.
Merry Christmas! I'm sorry I can't give you better news and a photo of a completed marker.

You more than welcome to use these shots. I would like to improve on the headstone shot if you could wait. The picture in my file was at a time of year that forced me to crop it.
I am abroad at the moment but will forward you a summer shot this July, perhaps you could use the existing picture, if you like the next one better, you could swap it out,
I frequent this cemetery often so it is not a problem,
