I'm retired and have plenty of time on my hands so I spend a lot of it searching through data on line at the local cemeteries. I enjoy linking family members and adding an obit when I can find one.|
My trips to cemeteries for picture taking has been slow due to the weather, muddy roads are making it difficult for me and I'm also uneasy going to remote areas alone to take pictures. The cost of gasoline doesn't help any either.
I feel that if people my age don't get these family records passed on they will be lost forever. So many of my friends that have historic info just don't use a computer. I will do the best I can to pass on everything I can.

This is one cemetery that I haven't been to yet to photograph. I created his page based on his obit which was in the Houston Hearld Newspaper. If you have her obit, she is probably there also.

Find A Grave Rule: I prefer not to add them because of their rules. FINDAGRAVE-- Do not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.

Thank you. It was really hard on him after Mom passed. We was really surprised he only made it 6 weeks after Mom. That was the longest they was apart.

Memorial has been added. Thank you for the heads up!
I have removed Franklin Lay as Dora's husband and found Perry Oscar's information and added him as her husband.
I have contacted the contributor who has Franklin and as to have Perry and Dora added as his parents. I need to work on getting the family together. I have asked her to transfer the memorial too. If you have any further information or know any more family members let me know. Dora's mother was my great great Aunt.
