|I started working on the family genealogy with my mother before she passed in 2006, and the family wanted the information undated. As a result I picked up where my mother left off.|

PIQUA — Ruth Evelyn Jones, age 91, formerly of Piqua went home to be with the Lord at 8:55 p.m. on Sept. 27, 2014, at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Sidney, Ohio.
She was born on Feb. 17, 1923, in Celina, Ohio, to the late John Henry and Lela M. (Brandon) Boroff. On Nov. 8, 1942, in Piqua, she married George Willard Jones. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1991.
Ruth is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ed Link, Jr., Piqua, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alice and Kenny Everett, Piqua, Ohio, Trixie and Harold Ridenour, Ringling, OK, Ed "E. G." and Annie Link, Sidney, Ohio, Tom Link, Florida; eight great-grandchildren, Ike, Caleb and Wesley Everett, Shannon Howell and Dakota Ridenour, Chase Link, Dylan Link and Abby Link; and three great-great-grandchildren: Kameron, Chancellor, and Lydia Howell.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Ruth was a member of the Celina Church of God, Celina, Ohio. She was a devoted homemaker. Ruth and her late husband, George, held a huge Easter Egg Hunt for the entire family in which everyone enjoyed. She loved to bowl and participated in leagues for many years. She loved to play Bingo and fish with her late husband. Mr. and Mrs. Jones ran a small vegetable and fruit stand and sold Christmas trees in the Piqua area for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, Ohio, with Pastor John Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
