Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am the genealogist / family historian on one side of my family and a genealogist protege in the footprints of my darling grandmother on the other. I blog about my genealogy finds at my website listed below. Genealogy fascinates me and research is a pleasant immersion for me.

I'm here mostly to find, update and maintain the memorials of relatives. My kin are Sinks, Maynard, Yarbrough, Norwood, Kelly, Hursey, Powers, Jordan, Bass, Anderson and allied families. Mostly from the SE US and Europe.

I've enjoyed taking a few photos of memorials for others when I can snag the request - I like the cooperative aspect of the site and, I admit, I kind of like graveyards. :)

I'm not likely to manage a memorial to which I don't have a sentimental family connection. If I manage a memorial to which you have more of a sentimental attachment than I do, I'm happy to consider transferring it!

RE: Sinks
Sorry. Forget the part about Miles Long. I meant to say Delilah's husband, Drewry Sinks, was mentioned in Daniel Hickerson's probate records. Miles Long was the husband of Sophia Hickerson, Delilah's sister. Sorry for the confusion.

RE: Sinks
I do have information about the Hickerson line and will be glad to share what I have with you. Thomas Hickerson was born about 1736 in Virginia. His wife was Mary, maiden name unknown. I have his 1812 probate records in Warren County, Kentucky as well as some other records. Thomas and Mary had 9 children. One was Captain John Hickerson, my 4th great grandfather. Another was Daniel Hickerson, your 4th great grandfather. Daniel, born about 1765 in Virginia, married Sarah "Sally" Lane. I also have Daniel's probate records. Delilah Hickerson was one of Daniel and Sally's children and Delilah's second husband, Miles Long, is referenced in Daniel Hickerson's probate records from 1845 in Dickson County, Tennessee. If you want to provide me your e-mail address, I will send you an invitation to view my family tree at, where I have posted all the records I have compiled.

Hi Carrie,

I came across the memorial for James Monroe Sinks, on which you documented that he is your great grandfather. Do you know where his parents, Drew Sinks and Delilah Hickerson Sinks, are buried? I'm specifically interested in the death date of Delilah, if you have that. I am your 6th cousin. Our common ancestors were Thomas Hickerson and his wife, Mary. You descend from Thomas and Mary's son, Daniel, and I descend from their son, John.

Regards, Melinda

RE: Francis Harrison Weaver
Hi Carrie,
Thanks again for transferring my Uncle Francis' site to me. I have added a few details, but appreciate your getting me started! Would you mind removing the first post I sent to you with the above subject line, Francis Harrison Weaver due to possibly incorrect information? All the pertinent and correct information about Uncle Francis can be found on his site. The second post (subject: Francis Weaver) is OK to leave up.
Thanks much and very best regards,

RE: Francis Weaver
Thank you, Carrie! I will take good care of Uncle Francis. I feel sorry for him being all by himself in Oceanside. I don't know if he ever married or not. My great-grandmother, Bessie Weaver, who is buried in the Bob Yarbrough cemetery in Tennessee was a Yarbrough, so you and I are cousins somehow or other! I remember my father taking me to a Yarbrough Cemetery when I visited him in Palmyra, Tennessee. I have directions to it if you ever want to go there. It has graves back to the early 1800s. You have to go through a farmer's property to get there; it is hidden back in the woods. Kind regards, Margie

RE: Laura Martin Yarbrough
Laura Martin Yarbrough is also my great great grandmother. Sorry but not willing to transfer her memorial. But am looking for positive proof of her parents names. Do possibly have that info.
